Chain Reaction Robotics Booster Club meeting minutes
March 10, 2026

Attendees: Brenda Sherrod, Lori Hoffmann, Shiv Basu, Jenny Duncan, Anjali Kapadia

The team didn’t do well at the Belton Competition. They finished 31/33. The kit robot, Kraken, malfunctioned but has been repaired.

The Farmersville competition will be March 27-29. The team will be using the scratch robot, Hydra. Parents are welcome to come and be spectators.

Friday will be the load in. Departure information for Saturday morning will be posted to SportsU.

The end of year party will be held on April 24 at 6:30 pm. It will be held at Carrabbas (3400 N Central Expy, Plano, TX 75074). The fees paid by the team members at the beginning of the year included the party. If adults wish to attend, it will cost $30 per person. A slide show of photos from the year will be made into a slide show. There will be a projector at the event to show everyone.

Next year, the team will be headquartered in the old Haggard Middle School building. We will be sharing the small gym with the ROTC.

If you know of anyone from Vines or Clark that would be interested in joining the robotics team, please send them our way. They can email Lori Hoffmann for more information.

Next year, the booster club will need to fill all board positions.

February 5, 2026

- The team is building 2 robots: The basic robot is done and the second upgraded robot is in progress.

- Hotels for the first competition are booked. Transportation for Belton is in the works.

- End of year party will be on Friday April 24 at 6:30 pm. Magiano’s was too costly. Goal is $30-$40 per person. Suggestions were made for Mi Cocina, Taverna Rosa, Moxi’s, Gloria’s, and Carabas.

- Transportation for Farmersville is all set up.

January 13, 2026

The competition will be a shooter challenge with yellow foam balls with an optional climbing portion

Kids are debating over using the provided kits or to create something new

Team now has 25 registered kids

Jenny Duncan will begin looking into a venue for the end of year party. The end of year party will be funded by the booster club.

The revised logo is the original atom with the wildcat paw in the center

Next booster club meeting will be on Tuesday February 3

-Bylaws signed November 10, 2025

-Bank balance = $12,318.16

-Unclear if trailer can be towed by a parent

-21 officially registered students

-2 – 3D printers were given to the team by the district

-After January 10, 2026, student meetings will be on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

-Planning needs to start for the end of year party.

-Kids voted on new logo, to be announced

November 10, 2025

- January 10, 2026 will be the season kick off. It will happen at 10 am and will be held at the Academy High School. The theme announcement will be at 11 am.

- The competition will be Thursday 3/5/26 to Saturday 3/7/26 in Belton, TX. Students will leave on Thursday during the day and return late on Saturday night.

- The competition on Friday 3/27/26 to Sunday 3/29/26 will be in Farmersville, TX and will not involve any sleep overs.

- If the team makes it to the State competition, that will happen in mid April.

- The team trailer is owned by the school district. Because of this, it must be pulled by a PISD vehicle which must be driven by a district employee.

- Pre-kick off will be on Thursday November 13.

- The bylaws need to be signed.

- Vice President position is still open. Should be for a Junior parent so they can take the President position next year. Secretary position is also open.

- The team did not qualify for the pre-season event. The team did earn the safety award. It was a good learning experience.

- The booster club financial audit was completed on 11-11-25.

October 7, 2025 PSHS Chain Reaction Robotics Booster meeting minutes

Attendees: Brenda Sherrod, Lori Hoffmann, Shiv Basu, Anjali Kapadia, Melba Garcia, John Reich, Joshua Michaelis

- Student meetings will be on Tuesday and Thursday each week, 4:45-6:45. Saturday meetings will be 10-3 and scheduled as needed.
- The Qualifying competition will be March 27-29, 2026. It will be in Farmersville. PISD will not provide transportation. Set up will be on Friday 3/27. Ms. Hoffmann will provide more information closer to the date.
- There will be a meeting on Saturday 10/11 from 10-3. Food will be provided. Please let Ms. Hoffmann know if your child will attend.
- The first competition will be on October 24-26 with the STEM Gals and NTX Tournament. More information here: https://www.facebook.com/share/1BRbtRqZuK/
- Many students do not show up as registered. This may be because they used their school email. They need to use there PERSONAL email. Please have them edit their registration.
- Students are not automatically registered with FIRST but parents are. Please have your child verify that they are registered.
- Funds from each year will roll over to the following year.
- We currently have 28 kids on the roster but only about half come to meetings.
- Positions for the booster club are as follows:

Secretary / FB page manager - Brenda Sherrod

If anyone is able to step up as the Vice President, please contact Ms. Hoffmann.

Also, the Secretary / FB page manager position is available. My son is in his second year of college so it would be good to have current parent who can take over. Must know how to manage FB pages.

September 12, 2025 PSHS Chain Reaction Robotics Booster meeting minutes

- NTX will be Oct 24-26 at Vines High School
- No qualifying events in Plano
- Booster club can no longer pay for parts for the robot due to changes in school district policy. A check must be made out to the the team.
- Booster club can pay for meals.
- New co-sponsor will be Joshua Michaelis
- Booster Club bylaws were found and shall be reviewed.

Booster club meeting dates, all meetings at 7 pm:
10/7, 11/11, 12/2, 01/13, 02/03, 03/03, 04/07.
