The Plano Overnight Warming Station at the Salvation Army will be Open TONIGHT, Monday, January 8.

The Warming Station is located at The Salvation Army - Plano, 3528 E. 14th St., Plano, TX 75074.

Buses will pick up during the hours of 6:30PM-8PM from the DART Parker Road Station, and the Harrington Library.

The Warming Station doors close at 10 PM. Later guests are only let in with a police es**rt.

The Warming Station is located at The Salvation Army - Plano, 3528 E. 14th St., Plano, TX 75074.

Buses will pick up during the hours of 6:30PM-8PM from the DART Parker Road Station, and the Harrington Library.

The Warming Station doors close at 10 PM. Later guests are only let in with a police es**rt.

FREE THANKSGIVING LUNCH – On Thursday, November 23 (11:00-1:00PM), we are providing a hot Thanksgiving lunch for anyone in need. No need to register, people can just show up. Turkey, ham, stuffing and all the fixings.

This is a hard season for so many. Weather they are lonely and need a place to belong, in a financial hard shift, or they just don’t have Thanksgiving plans, send them our way.

FREE FOOD - On Tuesday, November 21 (9:00- 11:00AM), we are giving away over 20K lbs. of food in our parking lot. This event is open to anyone in need and there is no need to register.

MEOWS will be open tonight, Monday, October 30 at 8:00PM and if present weather conditions persist we will most likely be open through Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Guests are encouraged to have dinner at Community Garden Kitchen.



No ID is required to stay overnight but guests must arrive by 10:00PM to register. Those wanting to come in after 10:00pm must do so with a referral or police es**rt. Pets on leashes or in crates are welcome.



Guests are encouraged to call the MEOWS hotline at 214-945-4637 for more information such as times the doors will open and possible pick up sites and times.

Evictions

An eviction has such a devastating effect on families, individuals, and the communities. The combination of rising rents, living pay check to pay check, short term job loss, domestic violence, medical emergencies, illnesses, and unsustainable housing cost are wreaking havoc on families in Collin County. Any of these issues can immediately throw a family into eviction. Eviction comes with a heavy price tag because it leaves a detrimental judgment on an individual credit for 7 years. This detrimental judgment ruins the chances of redemption in finding suitable safe housing for families.

Evictions has caused homelessness in Collin County and it impacts children’s learning ability in the classrooms. As of last year, Collin County ISD reported close to 2,000 homeless students. Recent Report of homeless students in Collin County ISD: Plano ISD – 408 Frisco ISD – 104 Wylie ISD - 91 Allen ISD – 70 McKinney ISD - 627

The Eviction Diversion Protectors was created out of a problem that exist in the United States and Collin County. Evictions occurs in Collin County every Tuesday and Thursday at an alarming rate. An increase in the homeless population in Collin has been attributed to evictions. The Eviction Diversion Protectors is a collaborative program in Collin County designed to assist landlords and tenants in resolving back rent situations without receiving a credit damaging judgment.

Classes to break the cycle of poverty are also provided to families who qualify for our program for sustainability. Currently, The Eviction Diversion Protectors are raising funding to help rescue the first 40 families out of the Justice of the Peace courts. Will you join our fight?
