Reforestation can be a critical component of climate change mitigation. While the numbers seem daunting, we can all help by planting trees in our own yards.

Could our best shot at stopping climate catastrophe be restoring forests on a massive scale?

Interesting article that considers the costs, as well as the benefits, of relying on forests to mitigate carbon in the atmosphere.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Widespread forest management and protections against deforestation can help mitigate climate change - but will come with a steep cost if deployed as broadly as policymakers have...

Imported diseases and insects pose a serious risk to our native forests. A globalized economy characterized by international trade in forest products and free travel exacerbate the problem. While Chestnut blight and Dutch elm disease left their mark in the past, new threats arise in our present. Oak wilt and the Emerald Ash borer are here now and diseases like Ash dieback are poised to invade our shores.
