A special toy, stuffed animal or book to brighten an otherwise cloudy day. Axel's Angels, founded in October of 2020, is a charity for the sole purpose of bringing smiles to the faces of our mightiest warriors: our children. So many children have been diagnosed with cancer and many spend countless days and months in the hospital and then have countless clinic visits afterward. These children go t
hrough something we can not even wrap our brains around, yet they take it in stride. I founded this charity in the loving memory of my boy, Axel Jace Ouellette, who bravely and mightily fought Acute Myeloid Leukemia for two years. Sadly, on September 15, 2019, he lost his battle, but never stopped fighting, not even for a second. During his many hospital stays, he would be able to choose a prize from the closet on the Hem/Onc floor at CCMC, after a stressful procedure. The prizes to choose from were not always desirable and many times he took something just to get something, but the disappointment was obvious. In his words, "the prize closet on MS8 sucks" so it is my hope that through Axel's Angels, we can provide MS8 (the cancer floor at Connecticut Children's Medical Center or "CCMC"), with toys, books, crafts, stuffed animals, video games, movies, or whatever else will bring a smile to the faces, or children who are away from home and their own toys. No more disappointed faces because they can't find anything they like. Our children are going through the biggest, fiercest, most challenging battle of their lives. Donate today, and help Axel's Angels bring joy to our mightiest warriors, one smile at a time.
