This is your Snyder Rotary Club President, Chad Goebel, reporting live.
Sources close to the situation have confirmed that a new Snyder Rotary Club fundraiser is headed our way this Fourth of July.
While officials remain tight-lipped on the details, early reports suggest local pets may want to schedule a grooming appointment, practice their best poses, and begin preparing for a little friendly competition.
Witnesses have described potential participants as "extremely cute," "possibly spoiled," and "fully convinced they run the household."
At this time, Rotary officials are encouraging pet owners to have cameras ready and patriotic accessories standing by.
More details are expected to be released soon. Until then, consider this your official heads-up.
Stay tuned. This developing story is going to the dogs... in the best possible way.

Canyon Rotary was blessed to have Rotarian and Randall County Sheriff Chris Forbis, along with Canyon Fire Chief Dennis Gwyn, give us updates on the fires in our area. We are thankful to all the first responders and their actions to protect our community.

In February of 1905, Paul Harris founded Rotary in a law office in Chicago.

“The thought persisted that I was experiencing only what had happened to hundreds, perhaps thousands, of others in the great city. ... I was sure that there must be many other young men who had come from farms and small villages to establish themselves in Chicago. ... Why not bring them together? If others were longing for fellowship as I was, something would come of it.” - Paul Harris

One of our Rotarian Hero’s

At 9 a.m. Monday morning, Babji Yalamanchili walked the alleyway near the corner of Jefferson Street and Amarillo Boulevard. With a gloved hand holding a trash bag and a trash picker in the other, he collected empty styrofoam cups and old paper ads into a garbage bag; this bag was the 312th he’s filled in 2026. Each day, Yalamanchili, founder and director of Keep Amarillo Clean, spends two and a half hours picking up trash as part of his ongoing effort to spark change for cleanliness.

Yalamanchili said that since January, he has been filling 13- gallon garbage bags with as much trash as possible from throughout Amarillo. His initial goal was to collect and dispose of 250 trash-filled bags by June 30, but he has already exceeded that goal.

Now, he has set his sights on filling 500 bags by July 4. Yalamanchili said he hopes to create local collaborations and an initiative that encourages each Amarillo resident to pick up and dispose of one trash bag filled with litter from their neighborhood on July 4
