We’d like to clear up a misconception we’ve heard in the community.
QUESTION: Will the community building raise my taxes.
ANSWER: NO.
1.) The building will be owned by the City of Plainview. Municipal property is not taxed.
2.) The city cannot raise taxes. It has reached the maximum levy allowed by the State of Nebraska.
3.)The City will not issue a bond for this project. The full cost will be raised by donations and grants. This was decided at a council meeting last fall.
4.) Properties surrounding the building will not see an increase in property valuation due to the construction of this facility. As a municipal facility this building will not be taxed and is not considered in the same category as residential property.
5.) The management of this facility will be a non- profit board. Monies generated by this facility will go to the non profit for the long term care and maintenance of the building and to cover employee salaries.

MONDAY OCTOBER 31st from 11am -1 pm the PBCF and Tiger Tavern will be serving up FREE hamburger meals to area farmers and truckers at HUSKER AG to promote the Overrun Challenge.

The Plainview Brunswick Community Fund is looking for 50 (or more) farmers to donate 200 bushels of grain this harvest season. The PBCF is kicking off their “Overrun Challege” on Friday Oct. 14th by providing FREE hamburger lunches made onsite by Tiger Tavern to area farmers and truckers. The first meal will be @ Meuret Grain in Brunswick from 11am - 1pm. All donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Need a donation form? Contact a board member below.

The results of the 2022 Nebraska Youth Survey are in and once again, middle and high school students across Greater Nebraska have voiced their preference for small communities… in fact, only 4% say they would like to live in a community larger than those that exist in Nebraska.
