I met Cathy a decade ago when we first began using Shorewood Animal Hospital as the vetting hospital for incoming dogs. Cathy was an excellent contact person for setting up incoming dogs, making boarding appointments, sending questions to the vets when I needed a quick response back, and she went above and beyond in taking our dogs who were there in boarding out on her lunch break to play in the yard. She would check them in the AM when she opened the building for business, send me photos to share on socials.

When Von R***r came into the hospital so very ill and needed to begin his diet to recovery which included grinding his kibble, adding water and medicated enzymes, I purchased a Ninja food grinder and Cathy made sure to grind his food, water and enzymes and have it set for the required 20 minutes so they vet techs could feed him on time, 3 times a day. This was months of care Von R***r received.

Von R***r loved visiting Cathy after he moved into his forever home. He remembered her kindness.

She had always gone above and beyond for K9's dogs. I was saddened to learn she was no longer employed there and today I felt a tug at my heart when I learned she is struggling. She is a single income family.

Unfortunately due to changes at the hospital, Cathy's job was eliminated. She has been out of work for a couple months now and is struggling to find work and feed her 6 cats.

Cathy had taken on 2 kittens right before she became unemployed and they have been ill since day one. The vet bills have been high as they attempt to figure out what is happening to these kittens. She did right by the kittens in adding them to her family of cats, but no one plans to be out of work and the extra burden this places on a family.

I made a wish list of the food her kittens and cats eat, it's not like I can just give her any food to feed them as they are one, picky and two the vet wants them to remain on the same food as they work through diagnosis.

If you can help out and order an item, she would greatly appreciate it. Our community outreach program supplies dog food to family's consistently, unfortunately we don't get much in the way of feline donations; as I mentioned her cats need to remain on these specific foods.

If you are a rescue and can help please reach out to me at [email protected] Also, since I am not a cat person, do any cat rescue people have any idea what is making these kittens so ill, 2 months of diarrhea. They have been on probiotics and medications, treated multiple times for parasites.

If you wish to make a financial donation to help with the vet costs you can do so via Venmo.com/K9EI4Life adding Cathy's Cats in the memo.

Tatum Talks run free Brown Prince.

Tatum was a rescue dog, his Mom seen his photo and fell in love. They drove two hours to meet and bring him home. Tatum had anxiety and fear over certain things in life and they never stopped loving him, caring for him and making every day special.

Behind the funny videos and his dad giving him a voice, was two parents that loved their dog beyond measure. They chose to adopt a rescue dog and never give up on him as he was family. He in returned rescued his Mom right back bringing light to her life in dark times.

Remember rescued dogs are not broken, they might just be the piece of the puzzle your family needs to see the joy in life, to live in the moment and know unconditional love.

I Only Wanted You
They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true;
I never wanted memories
I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you
a million times I cried;
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still;
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane;
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same;
But as God calls us one by one
the chain will link again.

Run free Audrey Grace, you were loved unabashedly by us all. Our little miracle who loved all unconditionally and full heartedly.

Abandoned in an apartment after your owner went to jail, you survived drinking from the toilet. You were skin and bones, but with a smile that lit up the room.

She came into Chicago Animal Care and Control, and the minute I met her I knew she had to leave with me. She had a lump on her hind leg the size of a baseball and at first the vet treated it for infection; there was no change in it. The decision was made to remove the leg and send the lump to be biopsied.

She was still very young and we knew that she would adapt to being a tripod easily. She had so much s***k.

The results came back and the oncologist informed us that is was
hemangiosarcoma and that she gave her 6 months if we started treatment right away.

Since she had a family who wanted to adopt her, we sat down and made the decision that no treatment would be given and we would allow her to live out her life to the fullest until she could no longer.

Tonight I received a phone call from her parents, they are at the ER, they wanted me to be able to tell her I love her one more time before she leaves this earthly plane.

She lived life to the fullest, 9 years of being the ultimate Princess, she joined her senior brother Gucci, a Italian Greyhound, and feline siblings. When Gucci left this world, her mom went with me to animal control and picked her out a Pittie brother, Liam. Then came her human siblings. Audrey Grace loved them all. Nothing slowed her down.

From photoshoots in the park, to swimming, to her birthday party at the pet store, to living life to the fullest every minute of every day. Our girl was special.

Whisper a prayer for Audrey Grace as she leaves us and for her family who refused to believe 9 years ago that she only had 6 months to live.

I love you GinaGF and John CF, and having been a part of watching your family grow, knowing that I couldn't have placed Audrey Grace and then Liam in a more loving home meant the world to me. ~Cynthia

Hey Folks
We are looking to get this girl into a Hospice home for the remainder of her life.

Jasmine is 5 to 7 years old, 35lbs and has kidney disease. She was bred, neglected and discarded. Underweight, both ears infected and her skin/fur is awful.

She is currently getting injections three times a week to increase red blood cell production, eating her food with appetite stimulant and will need her labs check again in a month.

We want her to be in a home, to know what it means to have a family that loves and cares for you for however long she has to live.

The vets have no idea how long she has left, as they aren't God, but in the 2 days she got to spend in a home, her disposition improved greatly.

She walks like a dream on lead, does he business outside, takes her treats and food gently, LOVES to be cuddled and petted.

As you can see in the videos she has no reaction to other dogs. She is tentative as she is physically weak and that can be scary having dogs approach you when you don't know or trust them yet.

She had been in a home with two small dogs and did fine. The children in that home scared her as they were very rambunctious, which is tough on any dog, but twice as much for an ill dog trying to sleep.

If you have room for this beauty and the heart to make her last days, weeks, months the best of her life, please reach out. Let's not let her pass alone without knowing a loving family.

Email: [email protected] or TEXT 779-875-6309 If you have the heart and time to give to Jasmine. Hospice fostering takes a special heart and we need you.

Stuart Little is an adopter and dear friend's cat, please share this post with those in Naperville area around Rt. 59 and Hassert Road.

We need to find Stuart and get him back home to his Dad.

🚨 Stewart Little was LOST August 28, 2026 in Naperville, IL 60564 near 111th and 59.
Please spread the word for this lost cat by sharing this post.

💬 Owner's Message: "My wife past early Thursday morning. The last time I saw Stuey was Thursday afternoon around 2 pm. There were moving trucks in the neighborhood. I am wondering if he jumped in one? Or is locked in someone's garage? He had an orange tabby cat about nine months old that would come to our back door and call him out to play. Idk where the tabby lives? But maybe the.owner of that cat recognizes Stuey or has seen him? We live in High Meadow. If anyone has seen Stuey, please let me know. It was just my wife and I here. My family is gone, and hers lives 1,000 miles away. I would really like to find Stuey, or at least know what happened to him? I try to watch my animals closely. I have been so distracted with the loss of my wife, it took until he missed his dinner before I noticed he was not around. Please keep an eye out for him. I desperately want him back home."

🐾 Description: "Black cat w/ white spot on chest. Had invitro infection of cerebellum, slightly off balance or "wobbly". Very friendly, smaller, chipped, will usually come to name, or "treat", will sit, blink, lie down."

Notice about our K9EI Vaccine Wellness Clinic.

The next clinic date is October 18, Sunday, 11 to 5pm at Salvation Army Community Center.

Registration opens 2 weeks prior to clinic and closes once all registration spots are taken.

If you registered last month and didn't show, you are not eligible to attend future clinics. If you registered and contacted us prior to the clinic date to relinquish your appointment, you are still eligible for future clinics. Registering 4 dogs and not showing is not cool, or acceptable. Those 4 spots could have gone to 4 other families.

Our clinics are managed by volunteer staff, as well as the Veterinarian and Vet tech's. People are donating their time and skills to help the community keep their pets up dated on vaccines at the lowest cost in Will County.

We had 110 pets registered in August and only 85 showed up for their care. People who were serious about needing the low cost care couldn't register due to registration closing, yet we could have taken those people openings due to no shows.

People have suggested we make people pay up front, we don't want to do that as we know many people are counting on payday the Friday before the clinic. We want to encourage people to use the clinic not put up barriers.

When people abuse a good thing, that good thing goes away.
Volunteers spend 2 hours setting up the clinic, making Doggie Bags and Cat Packs as giveaways, (These Dog and Cat swag bags often have toys and treats totalling more than what you paid for the basic vaccines $20) displaying free collars, leads, selling at cost Heartworm and Flea & Tick Prevention. They put out free supplies and food.

All of these things and equipment we use must be transported to the site on the day of the clinic and then returned back to storage afterwards. We are essentially a MASH clinic or Circus depending on who is defining our operation. We come in, set up, provide the service, take down and go on our way. While the clinic is operating 6 hours, our team is working 9 hours that day and days after registering microchips and Rabies certificates.

The Salvation Army Joliet Corps Community Center donates the building for these clinics, they have people who stay in the building to lock it up after we are done at the end of the day. Again, more individuals volunteering for the good of the community and their time is just as valuable.

This is our 4th year of operating this community outreach vaccine wellness clinic, we have partnered with the The Salvation Army Joliet Corps Community Center for three years now. We try our best to donate food and treats each month to their food pantry recipients as another way of aiding the community. It's a great partnership and we can't thank Kevin Nolan and Linda Trevino enough for working with us on their end.

We love meeting your furry family member's, we offer a great deal on costs, and give away food and gifts, something for profit clinics do not offer in their business model. Our community atmosphere and helping people with their pets makes us unique, we want to continue doing so and expand in services; but we need people to respect the process and work with us.

We had a professional photography at the August clinic taking family photos, as soon as we have those photos we will get them posted in the K9 Vaccine Wellness Clinic group page.

Let's see your furry family member's! Wishing them all a day filled with extra treats, pets, cuddles and playtime.
