Smartphone camera workshop – Monday March 9 at 2:30 at Philip Read Memorial Library

Get more out of the camera on your smartphone?

Learn how to take better pictures with the camera on your smartphone?

Learn about those camera features you are not using?

Then this is the workshop for you – A FREE hands-on introductory workshop by Forest Simon from the Vermont Center of Photography will focus on taking stronger, more intentional photographs using a smartphone. The workshop will cover simple, practical techniques—such as composition, light, and basic camera settings—that can help participants improve everyday photos. No prior photography experience is required, and all skill levels are welcome.

Monday March 9, 2026 at 2:30pm at the Philip Read Memorial Library.

JIGSAW PUZZLE COMPETITION In PLAINFIELD VILLAGE

Held in the historic Plainfield Town Hall, 1079 Route 12A, Plainfield, NH

If you like doing jigsaw puzzles and are up for a challenge, join the Friends of Philip Read Memorial Library for a fun afternoon of puzzling, on Nov.2. Form a team of 2 to 6 puzzlers and come see how fast your team can complete a 500 piece puzzle. The first team to complete the puzzle wins! All teams get the same puzzle to complete.

Doors open at noon, the competition begins at 1:00pm!
No cost to compete, it’s FREE!

Don’t miss the 2025 Friends of Philip Read Book Sale on Saturday, September 13 from 9-5 and Sunday (Half Price Sale) also from 9-5. Prices are very reasonable ($3 for hardbound and trade $.50 for paperbacks - except some special ). Also Cd, VHS, DVDs, old postcards. No text books. Lots of children’s books including junior chapter books ($.50-$2 or $3). Cooks fo Plainfield are having a bake sale by donation with benefits going to the Scholarship Fund. See you this weekend at the Plainfield Town Hall 1079 Route12a Plainfield. The hall and the tent are stuffed with books!
