Plainfield, IL – On Monday, May 25th, 2026, the Plainfield American Legion Marne Post #13 will be honoring our Nation’s veterans by hosting their annual Memorial Day Parade.

Parade Details

• Start Time: 10:45 a.m.
• Starting Location: Ira Jones Middle School
• Route: East on Ottawa Street → through Settler's Park near Van D**e Road → ending at the memorial in the park
• Post-Parade Ceremony: Wreath laying, rifle salute, and band performances at the memorial

Road Closures

Beginning around 10:30 a.m. and lasting until approximately 11:00 a.m., the following areas will be closed:
• Wallin Drive at Ottawa Street
• Ottawa Street from Wallin Drive to Van D**e Road
• Van D**e Road at Ottawa Street
Parking along those roadways will also be restricted from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Parking Information

Limited parking will be available:
• At Plainfield Village Hall
• Along Village Center Drive
• On Van D**e Road south of Ottawa Street
• At Ira Jones Middle School

Accessible parking will be available in the Village Hall parking lot.

Join us as we honor and remember on Memorial Day! 🇺🇸

Our parade will kick off on May 25 at 10:45 AM from Ira Jones Middle School to Settlers Park, with the ceremony starting at 11 AM.

Afterward, enjoy delicious food provided by the Knights of Columbus back at the Legion. 🍔Let’s come together in gratitude and community.

URGENT CALL TO ACTION - Please Read and Share

Next Tuesday, May 19th at 10:00 AM, Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will hold a service for Harry Levin, an unclaimed WWII Army Veteran with no known family.

Harry served our nation during World War II, answering the call when America needed him most. Now, as he is laid to rest, we have the opportunity to ensure he is not forgotten - that he receives the honor and recognition he deserves.

We are asking our community, veterans, and patriots to fill the shelter seats and stand in support of this WWII hero. Let's show Harry Levin that his service mattered, that his sacrifice is remembered, and that he is not alone.
