Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center is holding auditions this weekend for "Jaja's African Hair Braiding," a wonderful play that was recently a hit in NYC. The play tells the story of a Harlem hair braiding salon and the women who work there and are clients. We're looking for 9 Black/African actresses and 1 Black actor. Dragonfly Multicultural Arts' first weekend of "Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors" earned standing ovations! One person who saw it wrote to us saying "the play was hysterical and the production was very original and clever. It was one of the most fun evenings that I’ve had in a while!"
Three more chances to see this hilarious take on the Dracula story: Thursday, Oct. 31; Friday, Nov. 1, and Saturday, Nov. 2, all at 8pm. The Halloween performance will include a costume contest. Come dressed to impress...or scare!

Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center is holding auditions for our next show, "The Diviners," this weekend. The play is a lovely drama set during the Great Depression. Roles for all genders ages 16-60. No preparation necessary, but auditioners may prepare a scene. Sides and breakdown are on our web site. No memorization necessary for the audition. The celebrated New York play comes to New Jersey to tell a tale set in Wisconsin. "India Pale Ale" is the story of a young Punjabi American who, guided by the spirit of her pirate ancestor, leaves home to open a bar. But a terrifying event sends her home to her family. With dance, humor, and a treat for the audience at the end, "India Pale Ale" is a play not to miss.

"Round and Round the Garden" opens Dragonfly Multicultural Arts's outdoor theater season in Plainfield at duCret Center of Art, 1030 Central Ave., Plainfield.

Come see this hilarious farce March 31-April 2 at duCret Center of Art. One of the stars is duCret's Executive Director Tim O'Connor.

The plot centers around supercilious psychiatrist Wallace Ouimet who is anxiously seeking approval from the U.S. Government to build Double Utopia -- a gated community designed to house people who would rather freeload off their relatives than hold a steady job. Ouimet's efforts may be thwarted by a reformed working girl who suffers from restless leg syndrome, an incurable romantic who has just joined the vice squad, and a master criminal wanted by the FBI for ripping the tags off mattresses.

"Certifiably Yours," will be performed on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 at 8:00 pm, and Sunday, April 2, at 3:00 pm.
