Neighborhood House Association

Neighborhood House Association Thereafter, the Neighborhood House Association came into existence. Since 1974, the Neighborhood House Association has focused on childcare services.

We are a fully accredited, not-for-profit, early childhood education center providing children in the Plainfield Community with a strong academic foundation, personal development, and stability. In 1937, a Board of Trustees made up of local community members came together with one purpose in mind: To establish a well-rounded program that meets the recreational, educational and social needs of the

citizens of Plainfield. The agency has always fulfilled community needs through programs that have enhanced individual growth and development. During its 72 years the Neighborhood House Association has sponsored several types of programs, to mention a few; adult education, career counseling, senior citizens, tutorial programs, organized social and civic groups for the betterment of the community, instrumental in housing developments and several child care services. Presently, we service over 300 children including, 40 Infant/Toddlers, 152 Preschool children, 100 After School children, and 60 Summer Campers. We recognize how beneficial it is for a family to have a wide range of childcare services offered at one site. One family can enroll four or more children at once in our child care service, which ranges from ages 2 months to 12 years old. In 1991, Neighborhood House Association received National Accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children. All programs contain fun filled learning experiences, with experienced staff, qualified professionals that take pride in educating our most valuable jewels, our children.

[PPSD] ADVISORY: Due to impending inclement weather, Neighborhood House will operate on a delayed opening Monday, January 6, 2025. Students should report to school at 10:00 a.m. and staff at 9:30 a.m. All buses will run two-hours later from its regular pickup time. Breakfast will not be served.
