We never ask for help, but today we are asking for help with Ruby
We received a call from her mom a couple of weeks ago. Ruby was a stray that showed up in her yard She was crying and found to have an injury on her leg
They rushed her to an emergency vet where they confirmed the leg was infected and even though there was no broken bones the tendons and ligaments were damaged. They said that the leg should be amputated with an estimated cost of $5,000
Once we talked with her, we made a call to Quinebaug Valley Veterinary Hospital, LLC and In 24 hours she was scheduled to be seen. They did confirm that the leg was indeed infected and should be amputated. They also said Ruby was underweight so they scheduled the amputation for April 24 and sent to home with antibiotics. This also gave her the time to put on some weight.
Fast forward to today and we received a call that Ruby was not feeling well and is headed back to the vet tomorrow. We received a quote of around $1,000 for the amputation but we are not sure what will happen tomorrow. Anything you can do to help Ruby will be greatly appreciated. You can all call donations to our vet at 860-774-7650 and tell them you want to donate to Ruby’s care under Pet Pals. You can Also mail a donation to: Pet Pals
