From Girl Scout to Astronaut 🚀

🚀✨ From Grand Rapids to the Moon… literally!

Girl Scout alum and West Michigan native Christina Koch is making history as she launches on Artemis II — the first crewed mission to orbit the Moon in over 50 years. 🌕

Even more incredible? She’s becoming the first woman ever to travel to the Moon on this groundbreaking journey.

💫 A few amazing facts about Christina:
• Former Girl Scout — proof that courage, confidence, and character start early 💚
• Holds the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman (328 days!)

Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana Plainfield Service Unit 715 packed over 50 go bags for advocates. They included games, toys, activities, and snacks to help advocates build relationships with the children they serve. The Girl Scouts learned about what CASA does and enjoyed shopping for kids in our community and making thank you cards to our advocates. Thank you girls!!

Our service unit is the recipient of the President’s Award again this year! 🌟 The President's Award recognizes the efforts of a Service Unit to enhance Girl Scouting in its community during the membership year. Their exemplary service in support of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience led to them surpassing team goals and resulted in a significant, measurable impact towards achieving the council's overall goals.

A young Daisy Troop came to visit Village Hall and learn about Village government. We shared a lot of thoughts and hopefully they remember a few things they learned.
