🚨 URGENT FOSTER OR RESCUE PLACEMENT NEEDED 🚨

I have been contacted by TWO separate Good Samaritans regarding these three sick kittens, and they desperately need help.

I am told the kittens are currently taking shelter inside a winter shelter because they can barely get around when they come out. They appear to be suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection with significant eye infections.

I’m told these kittens were originally living under a homeowner’s back porch until the heavy rain and flooding recently forced their feral mother to move them. Mom relocated the kittens to one of my colony sites next door to a shed, where another concerned homeowner spotted them and reached out.

The kittens appear to be approximately 12 weeks old and are old enough to eat on their own. I can work on getting mom trapped and spayed, but right now these kittens need help.

Unfortunately, I do not have an available foster. If I can secure a foster, I can get these kittens immediate veterinary care and begin treatment right away. What I need is someone willing to open their home and foster these kittens while they receive the care they need.

I am also asking any rescue that may have an available foster to please reach out.

These kittens are struggling to survive outdoors and time is of the essence.

If you can foster, or know someone who can, please send me a message.

Hi everyone, I wanted to post an update on Brittany. ❤️

Her new mom says Brittany is doing very well. She loves to run down the hall waiting for the dogs to chase her and is always involved with whatever is going on around the house. She has decided to sleep in the bed at night with the dogs and everyone has their spots.

She also loves sleeping on her perch during the afternoon. And when it’s close to time to get up, she gently touches her new mom’s nose as a reminder that it’s time to get going. ❤️

For those who don’t remember Brittany, she was found in North Plainfield, New Jersey after she wandered into a clothing store one day. The owners of the store followed her, and she led them right to her four kittens behind the building. They reached out for help, and the rest is history.

I’ll also be posting an update on the kittens tomorrow, so stay tuned for that. ❤️

And thank you so much to Denise Reinalter Spinella, Brittany and her kittens’ foster mom, for always keeping in touch with the adopters, getting these amazing updates, and sending them over. ❤️

Hi everyone, here’s an update on Miracle.

Last week, I shared Miracle’s story and how Queen City Kitties Rescue helped a family get their cat to the vet for a much needed dental after the side of her face became very swollen and it was also beginning to affect her eye.

Miracle went to our vet on Thursday and unfortunately, while the vet was treating the severe dental disease and removing the affected teeth on that side of her mouth, he discovered what appears to be a tumor inside of her mouth. A biopsy was taken and sent out, and we should have results within about a week.

Right now, we are staying optimistic and taking things one day at a time while we wait for the biopsy results. Miracle is back home resting comfortably, and thankfully she is still eating and drinking on her own, which we are very grateful for.

Her owner is understandably heartbroken, but we are continuing to remain hopeful and positive while we wait for answers.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated, shared, supported, and helped us get Miracle the veterinary care she desperately needed. Because of your kindness, she was able to be seen, treated, and properly evaluated. Please continue to keep Miracle in your thoughts and prayers while we await the biopsy results.

Below is a pic hours after her surgery this past Thursday.

Thank you Dr. DeBaecke and Michelle over at Country Animal Hospital for taking such great care of Miracle and holding her for observation overnight

Hi everyone, I’m humbly asking for help for a sweet 7 year old girl named Miracle.
Her owner noticed swelling developing on the right side of Miracle’s face. As time went on, the swelling became worse and her eye began running and seemed to be affected by whatever is going on.
She was taken to the vet, where it was discovered that Miracle is suffering from severe dental disease and infection. The entire right side of her teeth now needs to be removed, and there is also concern that another infection may be present.

Anyone familiar with dental disease in cats knows how incredibly painful this is. Cats suffer silently. They continue trying to eat, and continue pushing through pain they should never have to endure, Miracle does not deserve that.

Her owner did seek veterinary care and Miracle saw the vet. Sometimes people fall on hard times financially and simply cannot afford a major procedure all at once. That does not make someone a bad pet owner. Life happens, and sometimes good people just need help.

I can schedule Miracle with my Vet who can perform Miracle’s dental and help relieve her pain, but funds are needed to make this happen. I will be attaching the estimate from the veterinarian in the comments. Im trying to raise $1,000 for Miracle

Please, if you can donate even a small amount toward Miracle’s dental procedure, it would mean so much. I would like to get Miracle in sooner rather than later. She truly needs this.

Please help me help Miracle finally get relief from the pain she’s been living with.

I just want to take a moment to highlight Rosselyn, who is pictured here. She’s a new volunteer, and I actually met her because I care for a colony close to her home. Over time, I got to know her and her family, and she became interested in learning more about the cats and what goes into caring for them. She’s still in high school and wanted to get involved and learn, which I think is really nice to see.

Over this past month, things have been extremely busy on my end, and having support truly makes a difference.

I also want to show appreciation to Deana, Sierra, Maynor , Sandra, Grayson, and Beth for stepping in to help feed colonies when needed. It truly means a lot and helps me keep everything going.

I’m really grateful for each of you. 💛

I just want to take a moment to highlight something really special that came out of the past couple of months.

For March and April, Queen City Kitties Rescue had the opportunity to partner with a new rescue called Cats and Keepers, founded by two incredible women, Mary and Patty. And I truly mean it when I say, this experience was everything you hope for when rescues come together.

Over the course of those two months, we were able to help 22 cats across 15 families in Newark, Jersey City, East Orange, and Plainfield. Each cat received full veterinary care, including comprehensive bloodwork to make sure they were healthy and ready for surgery, along with spay/neuter and vaccinations. It was important to us that every cat was properly evaluated and cared for from start to finish, and it means 22 cats who will no longer contribute to the cycle of overpopulation.

But beyond the numbers, what stood out the most was how smooth and positive everything felt. From coordinating with families to making sure each cat received the care they needed, everything just flowed. That doesn’t always happen in rescue, and when it does, you really feel it.
Mary and Patty are truly something special. Kind, dedicated, and just a breath of fresh air to work alongside. The communication, the teamwork, and the shared goal of helping both cats and their families made all the difference.

It really meant a lot to be able to come together and get this done in a way that felt so positive and seamless.

I’m really grateful for this partnership and looking forward to continuing to do great things together.

Thank you, Mary and Patty, for everything you do.

Here are just a few of the cats from these past couple of months. We didn’t get photos of all of them, but I wanted to share some of the faces behind the work.

Hi everyone, I’m so happy to share that Dal has officially been adopted! 🎉🎉🎉✨✨

A little backstory on Dal…he was found near a local bar here in Plainfield, in an area where I manage one of my colonies. He had an ear tip, which indicated he was already neutered, but it was clear he didn’t belong outside.

When I took him in, I scanned him for a microchip and found that it was registered. I did everything I could to track down his owner, I sent emails, called the number listed (which was disconnected), and even went to the address on file. Unfortunately, I was told the person had moved and no longer lived there. Based on that, it appears Dal may have been left behind when his owner moved, though we don’t know the full circumstances.

Thankfully, things took a turn for the better. I reached out to my friend Susan, and she and her husband graciously agreed to foster him. They gave him so much love and care, and, as it turns out, they completely fell in love with him. ❤️

Today, I visited their home to finalize the adoption, and seeing Dal thriving brought me so much joy. He’s confidently made himself at home, exploring every corner, keeping an eye on the birds from the window, and truly living his best life. He looks so happy and at peace.

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect home for him.

Thank you so much, Susan, for opening your heart and giving Dal the loving forever home he deserves. And as always, thank you to Cats of EHR - Eleventh Hour Rescue for your continued support. ❤️🐾

Happy Life Sweet Dal ❤️❤️❤️

I want to take a moment to recognize someone truly special. Her name is Emma ❤️

A few weeks ago, while walking home from school with her friends, Emma spotted a cat wandering along a dangerous road where there are no homes nearby. Without hesitation, she picked him up, held him safely in her arms, and walked him all the way home. Her family immediately checked for a microchip, and thanks to her quick thinking and compassion, that kitty is now safe in foster care and doing amazingly well.

But this wasn’t just a one time act of kindness, this is who Emma is.

Emma and her family are deeply dedicated to helping cats in need. They care for outdoor strays, assist with TNR, and open their home to cats who need a chance. They even adopted Milo, a former feral from my colony who was battling lymphoma when I first trapped him. Through patience, love, and Emma’s hands on involvement in socializing him, Milo found his forever home with them, and they’ve now had him for nearly two years ❤️

Emma doesn’t just love cats, she actively advocates for them. She has volunteered alongside me at events, including at the South Plainfield Library, where she spoke about her experience socializing cats. She has also assisted me during trapping demonstrations at the library. Yes, she can confidently set and monitor a humane trap.

Emma is just 11 years old, let that sink in. She is already making a real difference.

Emma is proof that compassion has no age limit. She is learning, leading, and inspiring others, all because she is being raised by an incredible family Sandra Pleites Herrera Maymay who has instilled kindness, responsibility, and a love for animals.

The future is brighter because of kids like Emma 🐾✨

Please join me in giving her the recognition she truly deserves 💛

Today, my friend and amazing volunteer Ciara picked me up and we went to feed some of the Queen City Kitties together.

Moments like this mean a lot to me, because I truly love seeing the younger generation get involved in animal rescue.

I actually met Ciara’s mom in PetSmart, of course, in the cat food aisle. We started talking about cats, and she told me about her daughter. She connected us, and the rest is history.

Ciara is 18, has cats of her own, and now volunteers with me helping care for local colony cats here in Plainfield. It’s really nice to see the younger generation step up and be a part of this.

If you’re reading this and know a teenager who loves cats and wants to help out, feel free to reach out. I can sign off on community service hours, and it’s also something great to include on college applications.
