"Hope will never be silent." — Harvey Milk 🏳️‍🌈✊

As we celebrate Pride Month, we honor the legacy of Harvey Milk, one of the first openly gay elected officials in the United States. Harvey knew that visibility is a form of power, and that giving people hope, especially young LGBTQIA+ people who feel isolated, can change the world.

Hope isn't passive. It’s loud, it’s active, and it refuses to be hushed. Right here in Plainfield, we keep that hope alive every time we speak up for equality, show up for our neighbors, and create safe, welcoming spaces for everyone to be exactly who they are.

To anyone still looking for their voice: We see you, we are here for you, and we promise to keep speaking up.

Pride started as a movement to be heard, to be seen, and to demand basic human rights. Harvey Milk’s legacy reminds us that staying silent is never an option when it comes to defending our community's right to exist and thrive.

This Pride Month, let’s resolve to make some noise. Let's speak out against injustice, lift up the voices of our youth, and fiercely celebrate our authenticity.

The Heat is ON: The Drag Queen Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser!
Things are about to get spicy! Plainfield Pride’s Youth Services invites you to the ultimate culinary showdown. Local restaurant staples are going head-to-head to win the ultimate favor of the public and our fabulous panel of three Drag judges!

Who will whip up the best bowl and come out on top? You’ll have to be there to find out!

They recently made a incredibly generous donation to Plainfield Pride Youth Services, and we couldn't be more grateful. Support like theirs is exactly what keeps our community thriving and ensures we can continue providing safe, welcoming spaces for our local LGBTQ+ youth and young adults.

Because of this generosity, we can continue to grow and support:

The Youth Center: Our safe space dedicated to teens ages 13 to 18.

Young Adult Pride: Our program tailored specifically for young adults ages 18+.

A Big Thank you to Ten Drops Coffee for their support during Pride Month, show your love and support to local businesses.

Theeeeey’re baaaaaaack!

This year’s Pride blend is about 60/40 our Josue Ariel Funez natural Honduras (blue and white stamp) and Nicaragua Tierra Madre Women Producers (a regional lot produced by 125 women coffee producers in Jinotega.) It’s a washed blend of Bourbons, Catimors, Caturra and Typicas.

The 60% Nicaragua gives it a classic clean cup base and the Honduras lends a little acidity and fruit. It’s definitely the kind of coffee I could drink by the pot rather than the cup.
