We are a nonprofit 501(c)3 charitable organization, comprised entirely of volunteers who are dedicated to saving animals lives. Our mission is to provide assistance and sanctuary to animals in immediate danger or facing harm. To provide support to homeless, abused or unwanted pets, while attempting to find loving, forever homes. Also, to promote spay and neuter programs, therefore helping to alleviate the perpetual cycle of unwanted pets, unnecessary euthanasia, and overcrowded shelters.

We are at our witt’s end!😫

Merci continues to have chronic diarrhea and has been losing weight even though he eats like a horse.

He was tested for EPI, but was negative. Parasites negative. Possible food allergies??? Process of elimination. We have spent months removing possible allergens from his diet. Still daily diarrhea!

Blood tests were taken and nothing remarkable was found. He received a B12 injection , antibiotics, another probiotic with fiber( third one we’ve tried) and a specialized protein prescription diet.

The hope was that we would see even a slight improvement in the last week, but he still has the diarrhea along with the veracious appetite which indicates he is not absorbing any nutrients that his body is craving and he continues to lose weight.

Possibly Chronic Inflammatory Enteropathy (CIE) or Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)?

Next we see an internist. Hopefully they can find the root cause and fix it.

This poor guy has been through hell.
It’s not enough he was shot, hit by a car and paralyzed, has a wound from that incident that won’t heal completely, but also has to suffer with whatever this is as well. 😭🙏🏼

Through all of this he still remains a wonderful, happy and loving guy!Dogs are remarkable creatures!❤️

Merci got his shower/bath before his vet appointment. Now if we can just make it there without another blow out of diarrhea!🤦‍♀️🙏🏼

Rudy is doing so well on his restricted crate rest since he injured himself jumping up on the bed. We couldn’t ask for a better patient!

There hasn’t been a lot of progress yet, but it’s only been a week.

This sweet little guy was able to rise up on his back legs just for a brief second. We are hopeful this next week will bring more positive results.🙏🏼❤️

Poor little guy just went to jump on the bed like so many times before, but this time something unexpected happened.

Rudy began screaming and I knew something was wrong. He didn’t move from that spot all night, but settled and slept all night. I thought possibly a sprain and was hoping it was nothing worse, but the next day he couldn’t move his back legs and was scooting around the floor.

He has a herniated disc, but Dr Hollie believes he has a great chance of healing on crate rest, pain meds, muscle relaxers and prednisone due to him having deep pain.

We will give it 4 weeks, but if there is no improvement, surgery is warranted.

Peewee ❤️

Our little girl’s pulmonary hypertension is causing issues with her lungs, which is affecting her heart.

Peewee had the worst case of heartworm disease of any of the dogs we have ever pulled. It was a huge worry that she would even survive the treatment, but she did and seemed to be flourishing

I’m grateful we have had the last couple of years to share with this sweetheart, but had hoped and prayed that we could fix all of the damage the heartworms did. Sadly, that isn’t going to happen.😞

We will continue to do whatever is needed to keep her happy and help keep her quality of life.

Dr Giatis started her on a course of steroids and increased her daily medication. Praying it will clear her lungs, the cough will subside and we will see an improvement overall!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

They just peer through the door wondering why they can’t come in and visit the woman that they know as grandma.

I don’t post much anymore. Unfortunately, lack of time doesn’t permit it.

My 91 year old mother moved in about a year ago. She has had many falls and the past few months have really been difficult. Numerous ER visits and a fractured spine, hip and a femoral head fracture have caused her to be bed bound.

She has always enjoyed all of the rescue pets, both dogs and cats, and they enjoy visiting with her just as much as she does. We have had to temporarily stop visitation for fear the may get too excited or put pressure on her healing body.

The hope is that in 8 to 12 weeks, she will have recovered enough to have her much loved visitors. We are just a bit over 5 weeks in right now.

We are hoping to let the littles visit in another week, but are just taking it day by day. We know how helpful pets can be with human comfort and healing.

We have been unable to pull others and it breaks my heart, but please be assured, our current pets and “grandma” continue to be our top priorities and will continue to receive the best care!
