MVSTA Step-On Sled Fun Pull 2025

The MVSTA will host a Step-On sled fun tractor pull on Saturday at 9:00 AM during the 2025 show. The
Step-On sled pull is meant to be a fun pull for show participants to be able to test their tractor’s abilities.
The pull will start with the smallest tractors going first, and progressing up to larger tractor’s (based on
horsepower and weight).
The Step-On sled is designed in a way that a similar tractor (size and weight) to the one doing the pulling is parked on the sled for weight. The sled design is basically a large flat sheet of steel (approximately 8 feet wide and 10 feet long). The pulling tractor will select a low gear to keep its speed moving down the track at a moderate walking pace. As the pulling tractor moves down the track, other participants walk next to the sled and, one by one, step on the sled to add weight until the pulling tractor’s
momentum is slowed to close to stopping. At the point where the pulling tractor’s momentum is slowed to almost a stop participants standing on the sled will step off the sled one by one until the pulling tractor regains forward momentum. Participant’s walking next to the sled can then step back on the sled until
momentum of the pulling tractor is slowed almost to a stop again. This process of stepping off and on the sled continues until the pulling tractor makes it to the designated Full Pull line on the track, at which time the pulling tractor will end their pull.
The goal of the tractor pull is to give show participants an opportunity to test their tractors pulling abilities in a fun non-competitive manner (except the ever-present color of the tractor joke’s).
