HURRICANE MILTON gone! we are safe and spent a evening of high wind , plenty of tornado alerts, water came up over the seawall . Roads are passable landscape clean up is not going to be to bad. screens ripped but fixable, no damage to the house. lost the kayak dock with Hurricane Helene .

...MILTON STRENGTHENING OVER THE SOUTHERN GULF OF MEXICO... ...STORM SURGE AND HURRICANE WATCHES ISSUED FOR PORTIONS OF FLORIDA...
Winds have reached 100 mph in the hurricane, as it takes aim at the Florida West Coast. Peak surge image on the graphic shows up to 12 feet of storm surge into Tampa Bay and up to 10 feet in Charlotte Harbor! This is now a very dangerous and potentially deadly situation. If told to evacuate, do so immediately! Milton is forecast to be a Category 4 Major Hurricane in 36 hours, with winds at 145 mph. The storm is forecast to weaken just a tad as it nears the coast on Wednesday afternoon somewhere close to Tampa Bay.
