👓💙 Today, the Placerville Lions Club proudly delivered over 1,700 pairs of donated eyeglasses to the Folsom Project for the Visually Impaired!
Did you know that once the glasses are collected and transported to Folsom Prison, the glasses are then cleaned, repaired, sorted, and prescriptions are read by inmates participating in a special rehabilitation program.
Once processed, the glasses are distributed all over the world to help provide the gift of sight to people in need. 🌎✨
A huge thank you to everyone in our community who continue to donate used eyeglasses and support this incredible mission. Your donations truly make a difference, and together we are changing lives — one pair of glasses at a time. 🦁💛💙
Do you have old glasses to get rid of? Bring them to the Hangtown Car Show on May 30 at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM and drop them off at our eyeglass donation station! 👓🚗
