At Sierra Chaplaincy, we are blessed to interface with Chaplains from other agencies here in Northern California. At a recent NorCal Peer Support meeting and training, our chaplains, Roxanne Alby and Brenda Hawkins, trained alongside chaplains from Amador County, Sacramento County, and Placer County. It is an honor and privilege to serve our local law enforcement agencies with such mutual respect and cooperation.

Join us on September 16th, at Caffe Santoro for our next Coffee with a Cop. Join us from 7 am to 10 am and meet with members of the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.

Our hearts are broken as we have to confirm that Ryan Marietti, a Correctional Officer with the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, assigned to the South Lake Tahoe Jail, was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident early Friday morning. It is never easy to lose someone so young, but to lose a member of our LE family is beyond comprehension. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ryan's family, friends, and co-workers. Thank you, Ryan, for your dedicated service, your amazing work ethic, and the bright light that you were to so many who knew you. You will not be forgotten. Godspeed, young man. EOW 08-28-2026.

Sierra Chaplaincy is proud to partner with the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department by presenting a segment about the Chaplaincy during the EDSO Citizens Academy. The academy began on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. The Academy, held on consecutive Wednesdays from 6 pm- 8 pm, is a 16-week "behind the scenes" look at the many ways your Sheriff's Department protects and serves the citizens of El Dorado County. Pictured on opening night are (L to R), Deputy Alicia Christ, Deputy Julian Sandoval, Under-Sheriff Eric Palmberg, Chaplain Michelle Cereghino, Sheriff Jeff Leikauf, Senior Chaplain Lloyd Ogan, and Lt.
