AN UPDATE FROM OUR FRIENDS IN KENYA:
Dear Friends,
Each day here in Kenya brings new challenges, but God graced us with some great news last week. As we’ve mentioned, a big issue our families face right now is that they cannot work due to the social distancing measures. The day jobs they once relied on simply no longer exist. However, one of the recent policies the government authorized requires everyone to wear a face mask in public places. By God’s good grace, this mandate has brought new opportunities for us to provide work for some of our MOHI families at our Kariobangi center.
We have many talented seamstresses who are now using their skills to make and sell masks. Right now, they are working to produce more than 2,000 masks per day. These masks not only meet the recommended standards for protection, they’re also much more affordable than alternatives. With access to masks, families can better protect themselves, protect others, and leave their homes without the risk of being fined $200.
While this has provided hope and income to some, the need for food is still great among the families we serve. We hope to purchase and distribute another round of food baskets as soon as possible, but we need your help to do so.
Blessings,
The MOHI Team
