Exciting things are happening at Coaches of Influence Ministry!

As our Board considers Greg Pappas and Mike Ogas for expanded leadership roles, we invite our COIN community to join us in prayer. Please pray for wisdom, unity, and God’s guidance as we discuss how they may help lead COIN’s administrative and ministry efforts forward.

We are grateful for their longtime commitment to COIN and excited about the ministry’s future.

Today, we celebrate the incredible parents, guardians, and caregivers who pour their hearts into raising the next generation.

Your love, patience, sacrifice, and unwavering support make a lasting difference in the lives of your children and our community. Every encouraging word, every lesson taught, and every act of kindness helps build stronger families and brighter futures.

We are grateful for each of you and pray that God continues to give you wisdom, strength, peace, and abundant blessings as you lead your families with love.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." — Proverbs 22:6

Happy Parent Appreciation Day! Thank you for being the foundation of our community. ❤️

Nearly five decades ago, a small group of coaches started a Friday morning bible study at Millikan High School in Long Beach. No one called it a ministry yet. It was just coaches, showing up for each other and for God.

That same group still meets today, almost 50 years later, now joined by coaches and local church members alike. Coaches of Influence was born from that faithfulness.
"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together..." (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Nearly 50 years of showing up. That's the COIN story. ⚾🏈🏀

As the school year wraps, the Canyon High School COIN Fellowship is closing out a season of real growth. This month, the group dug into Oswald Chambers' "My Utmost for His Highest," going deeper into the Word and into life together.

Looking ahead to 2026-2027, they're praying for new coaches to walk through the door and for continued growth, spiritually and as a team.
Grateful for every coach who shows up week after week. Here's to a strong start in the fall.

Our COIN family is walking alongside Executive Director Nelson Cook as he mourns the passing of his wife, Madeline. Her steady, quiet influence shaped this ministry in ways words can't fully capture.

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." (Matthew 5:4)
Please keep Nelson in your prayers in the days ahead. A celebration of Madeline's life will be held July 11 at Rose Drive Friends Church in Yorba Linda, with a reception to follow.

What a day on the fairway. ⛳
The 2026 COIN Golf Challenge brought coaches, supporters, and friends of the ministry together at Alta Vista Country Club for a morning of fellowship, friendly competition, and 29 years worth of reasons to be grateful.

To our generous sponsors, thank you. Your support helps us reach coaches with the Gospel, encourage them in their faith, and strengthen them in Jesus Christ. That mission doesn't stop at the 18th hole.

"How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity!" — Psalm 133:1

We are deeply grateful for every golfer, sponsor, and friend who made this day possible. 🤍

With grateful and tender hearts, we share that Madeline Cook has gone home to be with the Lord. 🤍
She was a woman of unwavering faith, quiet strength, and deep grace. Her peace in her final days was a testimony to everyone around her.
Please keep her husband, our Executive Director Nelson Cook, and their family covered in prayer.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." — Matthew 5:4
