One more warm day before fall temps arrive! Highs reach the mid to upper 80s today ahead of a cold front moving through tonight. A stray shower is possible, with breezy conditions developing. This weekend brings much cooler temps, sunshine, and dry conditions! Morning lows dip into the upper 40s and low 50s, with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s. Breezy to windy conditions will make it feel even cooler! -Ashlyn Moore

All in all, we were very fortunate through the high winds and heavy rain. Trees are/were down in places, but we’re grateful that no injuries have been reported.

A heartfelt thank-you to our community for all the help, kindness, and love shown during this time. Your support is a big part of what keeps us going and reminds us why we do what we do. We’re proud to serve you. ❤️

⚠️ TROPICAL STORM SAFETY REMINDER ⚠️

Please avoid driving during the storm unless it’s absolutely necessary. Heavy rain, standing water, poor visibility, and sudden gusts can make roads dangerous. Never drive through floodwater—turn around and find another route.

Downed trees and power lines may block roadways. Stay well away from any fallen power line and assume it is energized. Don’t touch it, drive over it, or approach anything it may be touching. If you see a downed line, report it to the power company or call 911 if there is an immediate danger.

If you encounter a blocked road, turn around and report its location when it’s safe to do so. Please give emergency crews and utility workers room to respond.

Stay home, stay alert, and keep yourself and your family safe.

From Alabama Power

We know many of our customers are watching Hurricane Isaias closely and making preparations for their families and homes. We are preparing right alongside them.

• Our teams continue to closely monitor Hurricane Isaias and prepare for potential impacts across Alabama. While forecasts can still change, we are taking steps now to be ready wherever our customers may need us.
• In addition to Alabama Power's own Storm Team, we've secured an additional 5,700 personnel from 25 states, bringing support from across half the nation to stand alongside our crews if needed.
• Those additional crews and resources are being staged strategically, alongside Alabama Power personnel, so they can get to work as quickly and safely as possible if outages occur.
• Restoration begins before the storm arrives. Our teams have been positioning equipment, securing materials and coordinating resources so we can respond efficiently when conditions are safe.
• Today is an important day for our customers to prepare, too. We encourage everyone to stay weather aware, follow guidance from local officials, have multiple ways to receive weather alerts and make sure phones and other essential devices are charged.
• Customers can stay connected with us throughout the storm. Visit OutageMap.AlabamaPower.com to see outages by county, ZIP code, city or municipality and follow live weather radar.
• Follow us on social media for storm updates from the field and connect to our outage map at AlabamaPower.com/storm.
• If your power goes out, let us know. You can report an outage at AlabamaPower.com, through the Alabama Power mobile app or by calling 800-888-2726. This is also a good time to make sure you have an online account set up and know your login information to make reporting outages easier.
• Above all, put safety first. Stay away from downed or hanging power lines and never attempt to remove limbs or debris that may be touching electrical equipment.
