Christian Center Pittsfield

Christian Center Pittsfield Helping the community for over a century The Christian Center is the oldest nonprofit human service organization in the Berkshires.

Founded in 1892 by parishioners of the First Methodist Church. The Christian Center was first known as the Epworth Mission. Following the Great Depression the Epworth Mission developed numerous programs to meet the social needs of the day and hired a full-time director. The Pittsfield Area Council of Churches underwrote the cost of these activities.

Did you know that damp, overcast days are GREAT for transplanting seedlings?

That’s just one of the many great things we learned today in our container gardening workshop. And despite the chill, we had fun and everyone went home with a veggies and a smile.

Don’t worry if you missed today’s workshop, the growing season has just begun. Stay tuned!

And a special thank you to Kamaar for being such a great instructor 🍅🥬🫑
