The Rotary Club of Pike County hosted all area 8th graders last Friday at Pikeland Community School for our annual Drug Awareness Day. Speakers included : Pike County States Attorney, Illini Hospital, Pike Co Sheriff Department, Adams / Pike Health Department, Quanada, ISP, Mental Heath Centers of IL, and a special thank to Zach Orr and Leecia Carnes for our afternoon program.

Students learned a variety of things including Internet safety, impaired driving, effects of va**ng, healthy relationships, summer safety tips and much more.

Thank you to PCS for hosting and for other area schools for making the drive.

Thank you to the Heath and Wellness Foundation for financial help in supplying all students with shirts and lunch!

And finally our winner Averly Howland from PCS was our got card winner for bringing back her signed card after discussing what she learned with her family!

We're at the tail end of having the building ready to be put back together. Light demolition will be happening, and there will be plenty of debris to haul out of the building. All help is appreciated for this final stretch!
