It’s still hard to believe this project is complete!!! I’m back home now, starting some other pieces, but my head is very much still in Pittsfield, still having dreams of working on this piece. Huge thanks again to everyone involved, from Huck Elling to Faces of Pittsfield, Mill Town Foundation Downtown Pittsfield MA Love Pittsfield, to Katie Batten austin_rapisarda Ashlee Downer Cathy Elsinger and Elliott Flynn, couldn’t have pulled it all together without everyone.

It’s my largest to date, and easily one of my favorite pieces I’ve created. I think the scale, location of windows and obstructions really lended to creating different scenes across the wall and in bringing something super specific to this land. Pittsfield is a beautiful old city, with a LOT of history, located in one of the most interesting landscapes I’ve spent time in. Mountains, waterfalls, fog, rolling hills, moody ever changing weather, narrow and winding roads.

For those that don’t know, I am originally from Massachusetts, and while I live in Wisconsin now, I’ve travelled back here at least once a year for my whole life. I’ve seen this place for years and always had a connection to the area. When I was given the opportunity to create work here, it instantly felt like a “core” project, something to really work my hardest on. I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to work at this scale, with this subject matter, for how naturally the artwork came together in planning, and for the trust that everyone had in me to bring this to fruition.
