The deadline is fast approaching!

Are you a current member in the 4-H program?

At least 15 years old, and in at least your third year of membership in the 4-H horse program?

This award is to recognize an outstanding 4-H member active in the 4-H horse/horse science program. Emphasis is on the member and his/her participation in the horse program, plus his/her leadership and impact on club, county, and community in general.

The award was named to honor a longtime volunteer, Dr. Scott McAllister of Centre Hall, PA who has spent a lifetime giving to the horse programs in Pennsylvania. He values the 4-H program as a place for youth to develop communication, leadership and horse skills.

Applications due by August 3, 2026.

The Pennsylvania 4-H Horse Safety Program promotes safety of youth while working with horses and safety awareness in youth, parents, leaders, and educators.

The Safety Awards program promotes safety by recognizing the efforts of youth and adults in creating and delivering equine safety programs.

The award is open to all youth and adults involved with the 4-H Horse Program who have conducted significant equine safety programs during the past two years.
Programs may include, but are not limited to: Children, Emergency Preparedness, Farm/Ranch, Health/First Aid, School, and Recreation.

Safety program must have been conducted from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026

The registration deadline is fast approaching!

The event will be held on June 16 at University Park.
The event is open to 4-H'ers ages 10 and up who are carrying an animal science project.

Please note, a screened coach must register to chaperone each team and a parent or screened volunteer must register to chaperone each youth competing as an individual. Families must know the name of their child's teammates and coach(es) to register.

Registration closes on May 18.

No walk-ins will be accepted.
