Actualizaciones de Verano del TPS: Yemen, Siria, Haití, Birmania, Sudán del Sur, Somalia, Etiopía 🗣 Summer TPS Updates: Yemen, Syria, Haiti, Burma, South Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia

La reciente decisión de la Corte Suprema sobre el Estatus de Protección Temporal (TPS) para Haití y Siria sentó un precedente que ha afectado muchos otros casos relacionados.

Varias terminaciones que habían sido bloqueadas por los tribunales ahora han sido autorizadas para continuar, incluyendo:
• Yemen: terminó el 20 de julio
• Siria: terminó el 27 de julio
• Haití: terminó el 4 de agosto
• Sudán del Sur y Birmania: terminaron el 7 de agosto
• Somalia: terminó el 14 de agosto
• Etiopía: terminó el 18 de agosto

Se espera que el gobierno tome una decisión pronto sobre la terminación o extensión del TPS para El Salvador, Sudán, Ucrania y Líbano.

🔴 ¿Qué es el TPS?
El TPS proporciona autorización temporal para trabajar y protección contra la deportación a las personas que cumplen con los requisitos. El gobierno tiene la oportunidad cada 6 a 18 meses de extender o terminar la elegibilidad para determinados países.

Summer TPS Updates: Yemen, Syria, Haiti, Burma, South Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia 🗣 Actualizaciones de Verano del TPS: Yemen, Siria, Haití, Birmania, Sudán del Sur, Somalia, Etiopía

The recent Supreme Court decision on Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti and Syria set a precedent that has affected many other related cases. Several terminations that had been blocked by courts have now been allowed to proceed, including for:
• Yemen: ended on July 20
• Syria: ended on July 27
• Haiti: ended on August 4
• South Sudan & Burma: ended on August 7
• Somalia: ended on August 14
• Ethiopia: ended on August 18

The government is expected to make a decision soon regarding terminations or extensions for El Salvador, Sudan, Ukraine, and Lebanon.

🔴 What is TPS?
TPS provides temporary work authorization and deportation protection to eligible individuals. The government has the opportunity every 6-18 months to extend or terminate eligibility for particular countries.

If you or someone you know has lost their status due to these terminations, we strongly encourage consulting a licensed immigration attorney or accredited representative as soon as possible to understand your options.
