Thanks to Center for EcoTechnology for posting this info! Great advice on where to dispose of old compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs) in MA. Not only are they toxic, but the City of Pittsfield needs to if they're ever going to get rid of their trash burning plant. . Getting more efficient LED bulbs also means knowing where to safely dispose of your old CFLs.

Tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 26, might be the biggest peak yet! We need to reduce electricity usage between 3-8pm tomorrow. Here are some ways we encourage you to help shave the peak:

- do laundry / run dishwasher before or after the peak
- turn off appliances you aren’t using
- make sure your space is nice and cool before the peak starts so you can safely turn up the thermostat
- closing blinds & using fans instead of AC
- try to wait out the peak (COVID friendly of course) in a central, public, cool location (like an office or library)
