THANK YOU to every Illinois Farm Bureau member who completed the call to action. Your voices carried through the halls of the U.S. Senate and helped make sure Illinois agriculture was heard.

Today marks an important step forward for the Farm Bill and year-round E15, but the work continues.

Illinois Farm Bureau President Philip Nelson:

“Illinois Farm Bureau applauds Chairman John Boozman’s leadership to advance a long-overdue farm bill, including year-round E15 out of committee today.

This marks the furthest the farm bill has gotten since it expired in 2023. For years, farmers have operated under extensions of the 2018 farm bill while facing rising input costs, volatile markets and continued economic uncertainty. It’s time to pass a modernized, five-year farm bill that reflects today’s challenges. The inclusion of year-round E15 would create additional market opportunities for Illinois farmers while expanding access to a lower-cost fuel option for consumers.

Today’s committee action is an important step before the farm bill expires September 30th. We urge Congress to build on this momentum and get this critical piece of legislation to President Trump’s desk for his signature.”
