Teddy is a 3-year-old, 12 lb. Yorkshire Terrier mix, and he’s truly the total package. This sweet boy is potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and does great with dogs, cats, and kids. He’s an easygoing little guy who seems happy to just roll with whatever life brings his way.

Teddy is a little snuggle bunny who loves being close to his people. 🥰 But don’t let his cuddly side fool you—he’s always ready to enjoy some playtime, too!

We are so sorry to hear that Wagsburgh was damaged due to a major water issue in the building.
Wagsburgh has always been so supportive of Animal Lifeline Pittsburgh as well so many other local rescues.
Please send lots of good vibes their way and PLEASE watch for their reopening and send as much business their way as possible.
Small business is the lifeline of our communities and I know that Wagsburgh is always the first to show up when the communities have a need.

Happy New Beginnings for Dory and Lady🩷

Congratulations to Dory and Lady’s wonderful new family! ❤️
These two sweet girls have found the perfect home—with a loving mom, a sister who will happily receive all their kisses, and a dad whose lap will be their favorite place to sit while he "works".
This family has so much love to give—it’s a good thing there are two of them to soak it all up! We couldn’t have asked for a better happily-ever-after for these two little sweethearts! 🐾💕

Our inbox and voicemail is filled with surrender requests daily. It breaks my heart but we can only take what we have fosters for.
Please consider fostering.
It is literally saving a life.

One of my MANY calls this week is about 2 dogs that are in a home by themselves. The owner is in a nursing home. The elderly owner shouldnt have got these 2 dogs only 2-3 years ago to begin with but… thats a rant for another time.

The guy who this responsibility is UNWANTEDLY falling on has contacted everyone BUT everyone is full. I have contacted rescues, shelters and more on his behalf as well because we are FULL and dont have large dog fosters available right now either.
The owner wants him to take them in the backyard in Homestead to shoot them.
This is only ONE of the many calls this week.
I don’t sleep at night because my mind races with thoughts of what will happen to the hundreds of animals we get called about each week. They didnt ask for sh*tty homes or even to be born but its the voiceless that suffer.
This is not my paid job. It’s not a paid job for anyone in our rescue This was a passion that i thought that more than a few people cared about. Stupidly, I once thought if we built a caring, ethical rescue, people would come and want to help to give a new beginning to pets that didnt deserve the sucky beginning they were handed.
Every one of our dedicated fosters do what they can to help but the few are getting burned out by the many of non-stop surrenders, abandoned, neglected, irresponsibly owned animals that shouldn’t be in the position they are in.

My god! We pay for everything. We provide support. We give you every resource that we can.
It literally does not cost a foster for a piece of kibble or a crate or anything else.
Just love and a soft spot to land. The rewards are worth it.

So if you want to help and can give a small nook of your home and heart temporarily to a pet in need and to keep me from needing ambien and a psych visit, please

Meet Bruno! 🐾💙

Bruno is an 8-year-old, 50-pound neutered Doodle with a gentle spirit, soulful eyes, and a tail that always seems ready to wag.

This sweet boy loves people, other dogs, and car rides. He has lived happily with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends around. Bruno is smart and intuitive and looks to his person for guidance and reassurance.

Bruno loves simply being where his people are—if you’re in the room, that’s exactly where he wants to be. ❤️ He has settled beautifully into his foster home’s routine and didn’t take long to completely win their hearts.

He is currently working on his leash manners and making great progress. Busy places can still feel a little overwhelming, so for now, Bruno is happiest with short, easy adventures while he builds his confidence.

Bruno is looking for a family who will give him the guidance, patience, and love he deserves. In return, you’ll get a devoted companion with a gentle soul, deep expressive eyes, and one very happy wagging tail.

🐾 Good Things Come in Pairs—Meet Dory & Lady! 🐾

Dory and Lady are two beautiful six-year-old Shih Tzu girls looking for a loving home together.

Dory is 13 lbs, while Lady is a petite 8 lbs. Both girls are incredibly sweet and are coming out of their shells and showing off their adorable personalities more every day.

This playful pair offers the best of both worlds! They’re active and love having fun, but once playtime is over, they just want to curl up on your lap, snuggle beside you, and snooze the day away.

Dory and Lady have been together their entire lives and share a very special bond. They’re looking for a home where they can feel safe, receive plenty of love and attention, and be cherished as part of the family.

Ollie Pupdate!
Our foster picked Ollie up from Ebensberg Animal Hospital. He is home and looking like the happy goober that he is.
He returns for more blood work today and stitch removal in 2 weeks. If all goes well, he will be ready for a forever family at that time and will have no restrictions. The best part of a parathyroid tumor is that when it’s gone, the issues are gone with it. He deserves to have a healthy rest of his life with tons of love and lots of treats.
