Something meaningful is beginning in our community.

The Evelyn Ramey Centers for Hope is preparing to launch Evelyn’s Table — a community outreach effort focused on making sure families, seniors, veterans, and individuals facing hardship have a place where they can receive a hot meal, basic support, and dignity.

We believe no one in our community should go hungry.

Right now we are looking for:

• Volunteers who want to serve
• Local businesses willing to partner
• Sponsors who want to support a real community effort
• People willing to help spread the word

If you would like to be part of building something that strengthens the village, we would love to connect with you.

The Evelyn Ramey Centers For Hope
A Safe Harbor for Families in Crisis
My Story – Why This Matters
I know homelessness because I lived it. My wife, my baby boy, my baby girl—and me—we
lived in a motel, paycheck to paycheck. When that broke down, we ended up in shelters.
What I saw broke me.
They fed us what I can only call trash food. Leftovers, scraps, food one step away from the
dumpster. Shelter staff ate hot meals from storerooms while families like mine got the scraps.
We were told, “beggars can’t be choosers.” But the truth is, most Americans are just one
paycheck away from being called a beggar. And everyone deserves dignity.
The Fire That Drives Me
That’s why I founded The Evelyn Ramey Centers For Hope—to build places where families
can:
- Rest – Clean beds and secure shelter.
- Recover – Nutritious food and stability.
- Rebuild – Life skills, training, and paid work pathways.
No trash food.
No forced religion.
No degrading hoops to jump through.
Just compassion, safety, and a way forward.
The Scripture That Guides Us
“For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a
stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I
was in prison and you came to Me. Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when
did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a
stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in
prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you,
inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’”
— Matthew 25:35–40
The Goal
We’re raising $25,000 to launch the first Evelyn Ramey Center—a place that proves people
deserve better than scraps.
This will cover:
- Beds and supplies for families
- Food and essentials
- Lease/startup costs
How You Can Help
- Give: Join the Founders Circle with a gift of $500, $1,000, or more.
- Share: Spread this vision with your network.
- Partner: Businesses, churches, and organizations can sponsor rooms, beds, or programs.

The Evelyn Ramey Centers For Hope I lead The Evelyn Ramey Centers For Hope, a 501(c)(3) building a rigorous pathway from homelessness to lasting independence: safe shelter–equivalent support, nutritious food, lifeskills training, and work pathways. I’m currently 100% remote and solo while we stand up our first operating site. The problem: too many families bounce between crisis and forms with no durable plan. Our model (12-week arc): Stabilize → Strengthen → Work. We remove friction, deliver essentials, coach for life and employment, and track retention. What your capital does right now (pre-facility launch): • $67 = 1 bed-night equivalent (meals + casework + safety plan) • $250 = 1 family day (intake + meals + casework setup) • $1,000 = 1 week of stability • Sponsor tiers: $2,500 / $10,000 / $25,000 with simple reporting Immediate needs (remote-friendly): 1) Seed sponsors to accelerate opening and client intake 2) Skilled volunteers (3–5 hrs/mo): grant writing, fundraising ops, website edits, bookkeeping, video 3) Host site partner (church, community facility, or property owner) to sponsor/discount space for the pilot Ways to help today: • Donate (Zeffy – $0 fees): https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donationform/support-the-evelyn-ramey-centers-for-hope • GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/3a8e6d605 • Volunteer: DM me “volunteer” with your skill and availability • Space lead: DM “space” with a contact or opportunity I bring the urgency and pragmatism of a former over-the-road driver with lived experience. If you’re serious about measurable impact—food on plates, families stabilized, people working—let’s partner. Contact: [email protected] | [email protected]

Two-year-old Quincy Kroner from Cincinnati became the center of a heartwarming story in 2015 when he finally met his local garbage men, his little heroes. Quincy had developed a fascination with the garbage collectors in his neighborhood, eagerly watching them from his window every Friday as they collected trash. The drivers, Mark Davis and Eddie Washington, would wave and honk, forming a special bond with the curious toddler.

To celebrate completing his potty training, Quincy’s parents gifted him a lime green toy garbage truck, complete with plastic garbage men and a lever to lift a recycling bin. Excited to show his heroes, Quincy patiently waited for weeks for the right moment to meet them in person. When that day finally arrived, the reality of seeing his heroes up close proved overwhelming. Surrounded by the noise and size of the real garbage truck, Quincy couldn’t contain his emotions and broke into tears, holding his toy truck tightly.

The moment captured the innocence, admiration, and genuine emotion children can have for everyday heroes. The story went viral on social media, with people touched by Quincy’s sincerity and enthusiasm. It served as a reminder that heroes don’t always wear capes — sometimes they wear reflective vests and drive garbage trucks. Quincy's reaction highlighted how small gestures and everyday interactions can make a lasting impact on young hearts.
