Are you interested in making a difference in your community? Don’t know where to start?

Join us on May 2nd to learn more about PIIN and our work for justice in Allegheny County, and how you can build power to affect change in Clairton and beyond. Lunch will be provided!

Hear from our Task Force Leaders and Speakers:

Education Task Force: How to organize for change in educational policy and resistance. Hear community leaders and PIIN leaders talk about confronting a school board and superintendent on behalf of children and families.

Immigration Task Force: How to organize for safety, anti-violence in our streets, and for what is on the horizon. Hear our leaders share experiences of resistance that led to change.

Environmental Justice Task Force: Hear local leaders talk about air quality, childhood asthma, and other health concerns in the Clairton area. Hear PIIN leaders share recent wins and proposals for the future.

Transformational Justice: Allegheny County Jail oversight work, Colorful Backgrounds EXPO cohorts, and addressing Housing Authority discrimination practices. Hear our impacted leaders share their work and recent wins.

Integrated Voter Education: How to see the integration of issues into voting opportunities to vote our values. (Seeking candidates who align with our values and issues.)

Religious Leaders Caucus: Igniting and connecting the passions and theology of religious leaders to the concerns they hear from their constituents, and moving to address policies that affect their lives.

Training Opportunities! We can offer training that teaches how to discover the internal values that need external expression, working with others for the benefit of the community and to strengthen congregations, and providing clarity for why we are all drawn to the work of justice.

⭐ The annual PIIN Fundraising Gala is just 5 weeks from today!

Tickets are limited, but there is still time to purchase yours at piinpa.org/gala. Join us on May 17th for an evening of food, dancing, and fellowship, celebrating our successes in 2025 and supporting our continued work for justice in 2026.

If you attended last year's Gala or made a contribution to PIIN, YOU had a direct hand in making our work this past year possible, including successfully pushing for legislation that protects immigrants' rights in Allegheny County.

On March 10, 2026, after weeks of one-on-one meetings with council members, phone calls, and speaking out at County Council meetings (often with the allotted 3-minute time limit cut to just 90 seconds), PIIN and our Immigration task force celebrated the passage of ordinance 13809-26 in an 11-3 vote! The legislation limits the cooperation of Allegheny County law enforcement agencies, officials, and employees of the county with ICE and other federal agents, siding with the majority of Allegheny County citizens in curtailing the excesses of ICE/DHS.

There is still work to do, and we could not do it without you! Celebrate with us and support our continued efforts at the annual PIIN Gala on May 17th!

⭐ We are 6 weeks out from the annual PIIN fundraising Gala!

To highlight one of our wins from this past year: In November 2025, PIIN's Environmental Justice task force, focusing its recent efforts on increasing air quality in the Mon Valley, celebrated the unanimous Allegheny County Council vote to increase operating permit fees for facilities that produce air pollution! This win was the result of months of our EJ task force's testimony at County Council meetings, collaboration with other local organizations, and work advocating for tighter regulations on the federal level.

If you attended last year's fundraising Gala or made a contribution to PIIN, YOU had a hand in making this and our other wins this past year possible. We could not do this without you.

Celebrate our work in 2025 and support our continued work for justice in 2026 at PIIN's fundraising Gala on May 17th! (Tickets available at piinpa.org/gala)
