Building the future of OLC!

Our Board recently gathered for a strategic planning session with nationally recognized GALA Choruses consultant Eve Campbell. Together, we reflected on where OLC has been, explored where we want to go, and identified ways to strengthen our chorus and its connection to the community.

A huge thank you to GALA Choruses for making this session possible through its 411 Program and for providing Eve’s expert guidance. We are also grateful to our Board members for bringing their ideas, energy, and commitment to the conversation.

Exciting work is ahead!

The time has come to wrap up Lansingout's takeover of the GALA socials. We have had a great time sharing content with you related to our group and our gathering of Michigan GALA Choruses. If you want to keep up with LanSINGout, follow us on Facebook and Instagram. We'd love to have you in our social media audience!

As we close we want to give a shoutout to our Board President, Jason, who came up with the idea of a doing a Michigan GALA showcase for this year. Jason did most of the coordinating, communication, and planning to make this event possible. It would not have happend without his leadership. In his own words, he shares the following:

"As this weekend winds down and a new week begins, I'm still in awe of the powerful message of togetherness and support the Michigan GALA Choruses Showcase gave to each participant. It was our honor to welcome everyone for Saturday's event. I would like to thank the members of Out Loud Chorus, PRISM, West Michigan Voices of Pride, Grand Rapids Women's Chorus, Sing Out Detroit, Sistrum Chorus and my fellow members of Lansingout for a fantastic weekend."

Late night media drop! We, Lansingout, hosted seven GALA choruses for a Michigan GALA showcase on August 15th and here is a sampling of the beautiful music that was shared. It was a beautiful event! We're grateful for all those who were present with us: Grand Rapids Women's Chorus, West Michigan Voices of Pride, PRISM, Out Loud Chorus, Sistrum Chorus, and Sing Out Detroit.

Lansingout put out a call to GALA Choruses in Michigan to gather and create a free showcase concert that would encourage and uplift the participant choirs as well as the general audience. We are thrilled to announce that Bennington Voices of Pride is officially a member of GALA Choruses! We are honored to join an incredible organization dedicated to leading the LGBTQIA+ choral movement across the Americas through music, advocacy, community, and connection.
