In a new essay for TABLE Magazine, Music Director Daniel Singer reflects on what has kept the Mendelssohn Choir singing for 118 years, and the connections that happen when we experience great art together.

“We still gather because we long for the connection that can only come from experiencing great art in the company of others.”

We invite you to read Daniel's reflections, and if you’re ready to experience that connection for yourself, we invite you to join us, bring a friend, and experience great art with us on Sunday, October 11, at 3 pm at East Liberty Presbyterian Church for our season opener, MCP Presents: In Time of War.

Meet the voices of the Mendelssohn Choir’s 118th season! 🎶

The over 140 singers that make up this choir are back together and filling rehearsal rooms with music once again as we get ready to open another season.

Behind every season is a group of committed singers who bring their time, talents, humor, and love of music to the choir. Some are joining us for their very first season. Others have been singing with MCP for decades. Together, they are the voices that make this ensemble so special.

We’re so glad they’re back, and we can’t wait for you to hear them.

Here’s to our 118th season!

What a season and what a showing of support!! 🎉

After the choir sang the final notes of the 2025-26 Season, Danny and I recorded this video of thanks as we approached our goal of $15,000 in 15 days.

In the last 24 hours, our community turned out not only to reach our goal, but to blow right past it. We’ve raised a total of $18,746 so far. 🤯 Thank you for helping fuel the work that’s ahead, and for capping off a remarkable season in style.

And there is still time to give! If you want to join in before this campaign ends, go to themendelssohn.org/support-us, and give by 11:59pm tonight!

From all of us here at the Mendelssohn Choir, thank you! ❤️
