Today, the TCLB team got to work with Allegheny County Conservation District to do soil testing on a few of our vacant lots! We are very excited to provide these results to our upcoming tenant, who is planning to create a small garden in this space. 🪴 The testing results that we will be receiving in the next few weeks will help to inform where they can plant in the ground and where raised beds might be needed.

We are so happy to be able to provide a service like this with the help of ACCD! 🪏 Here’s to more soil testing in the future!

We’ve had an exciting past few days at TCLB. First, we sold our 111th property to a couple who will be using a 203(k) loan from loanDepot to renovate their property and we couldn’t be more excited to see the results!

And speaking of results, we were able to do a final inspection of a property we sold in October 2025! This rehab in Churchill is absolutely stunning and we can’t wait to see a new family enjoying it soon!

Wonder what’s next for us? Stick around and find out! 🏠🪧

We are so excited to announce that we have now sold a total of 110 properties! 🎉 That’s 110 times we have been able to save a property and watch it be put back into productive reuse! Thank you to all of our partners and buyers for helping us reach this milestone! We absolutely couldn’t do it without you.

Here’s to another 110!!! 🏡🛠️

Wonderful news! CodeNForce has been incredibly helpful to the communities that use it.

Exciting news! Rep. Abigail Salisbury and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development are awarding us a $25,000 grant to support our CodeNForce software.

CodeNForce is a database we created to make inspecting, citing and tracking properties easier for local code enforcement officers – which gets us faster on track to tidying up properties.

Check it out! The Local Government Commission recently did a study on property maintenance code enforcement with over 130 municipalities across PA.

The goal was to learn how municipalities navigate maintenance code enforcement given that PA does not have a statewide property maintenance code. Some key findings include:

• Nearly all municipal respondents (93%) characterize their community’s degree of blight as either low or moderate, but only 28% agree or strongly agree that their capacity to combat blight is sufficient.

• Over ¾ of responding municipalities have not considered intergovernmental agreements for property maintenance code enforcement.

• Over ¾ of responding property owners (78%) said that property maintenance code enforcement factors either somewhat or strongly into their future planning and development strategies.

Great news for Allegheny County residents with "tangled titles"! A new program will help residents officially transfer property titles to their name.

Tangled titles occur when the current occupant of a house is not legally recognized as the owner due to improper title transfer. This program will ultimately help residents with accessing assistance programs for home repairs and property maintenance, reducing blighted properties in Allegheny County neighborhoods.

Read more at the link below.

A new program aims to assist people living in their homes without the property legally in their name — a situation known as a “tangled title.”
