📢 🐿️Attention Squirrel Hill!
Join us virtually on Monday, Oct 12 @ 5:30 PM for an important Development Activities Meeting (DAM) regarding Carnegie Mellon University’s proposal for Permanent Light Pole Banners along Fifth & Forbes Avenues.
📍 What’s Being Discussed:
CMU is proposing to make its street-light banners permanent along Fifth and Forbes Avenues. Because this shifts from temporary banners to an indefinite installation, it requires both DAM review and Public Art and Civic Design Commission (PACD) approval.

City Planning ( Pittsburgh City Planning ), OPDC ( Oakland Planning & Development ), OBID (Pittsburgh’s Oakland Neighborhood ) and SHUC.

Volunteers for the FINAL Squirrel Hill Night Market TOMORROW(Saturday the 26th)! Support is needed for trash bin set-up, litter pick up and trash bag changes during the event, and end of event teardown/clean-up! Our night markets depend on the volunteer efforts of community members like YOU to keeping the event clean during and after the event.

Hey Squirrel Hill! 🐿️ Make sure to RSVP for next week’s SHUC Annual Community Meeting on Tuesday, September 15th, at 6:30 PM at the JCC’s Levinson Hall! Join us as we discuss SHUC’s vision for the future Squirrel Hill Neighborhood Plan, working in partnership with the citywide efforts and Pittsburgh City Planning, as we look to prepare for the next steps and your role in this process. You’ll also be hearing from local district council members Councilmember Barb Warwick, District 5 Councilperson Erika Strassburger , receiving an update from our City Controller City Controller Rachael Heisler and even learning about our neighborhood’s Deer Management Program with Pittsburgh Park Rangers and how to get involved! Plus, learn more about SHUC, Squirrel Hill’s community organization, including our upcoming events, how you can get involved, and how to volunteer with our committees to build community and make a difference in our neighborhood!
Light snacks and water will be provided. A brief Q&A will follow each presentation.
