The South Park Education Foundation is proud to announce the expansion of its scholarship program through a gift from Pittsburgh Computer Solutions. This exciting addition is made possible by the generosity of David and Lori Deuerling. David is a graduate of South Park and both he and Lori are resident members of the school community.

For the first time, the Foundation will offer the Technology Scholarship Presented by Pittsburgh Computer Solutions. This $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a South Park High School senior pursuing a program of study in technology-related fields. Eligible areas of study include, but are not limited to, Cybersecurity, Software Development, IT Support, Data Analytics, Network Administration, Web Development, and Robotics Technology. Applicants who have demonstrated a passion for technology during their high school careers are encouraged to apply.

In addition to the new Technology Scholarship, the Foundation will continue to offer the Quality of Character, Community Commitment, Excellence in the Arts & Humanities, and Vocational Scholarships, each in the amount of $2,000.

Applications for all scholarships will open on Tuesday, March 11 and the deadline to apply will be Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Stay tuned for more information tomorrow when the scholarship applications launch!

Since 2020, the South Park Education Foundation has awarded $34,000 in scholarships to support the educational pursuits of South Park graduates.

The South Park Education Foundation and Pittsburgh Computer Solutions are excited to introduce this new scholarship opportunity as part of our commitment to the students and families of South Park.

South Park High School Social Studies Teacher Mr. Boles is using his SPark Grant to bring history to life in a way that’s engaging and educational!

Inspired by the classic game Jenga, Mr. Boles created a hands-on lesson for his students that demonstrates the importance of creating a balanced approach to conflict resolution, all through the lens of the Congress of Vienna.

Students created their own structures to represent the "Balance of Power," learning not just history, but also the values of moderation, empathy and problem-solving.

The 2024-2025 SPark Grant Program was generously supported by PNC.

To our South Park educators: The SPark Grant application is coming soon! Stay tuned for more details, as the application and process details will launch in the coming days.
