Women's Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh WC&S Vision: We exist to end domestic violence and create safe spaces for help, healing, and hope.

WC&S Mission: We will strengthen our ability to meet the individual and evolving needs of those affected by domestic violence by investing in the growth of our people, deepening community engagement, and amplifying the voices of all survivors. WC&S Values:

To accomplish our mission, Women's Center & Shelter:



- Provides sanctuary from domestic violence for adults and their children within a supportive community where confidentiality is guaranteed.

- Informs adults of the resources available to them.

- Works with all appropriate organizations/agencies to create resources for survivors of domestic violence and their children.

- Accompanies survivors as they proceed through the legal system.

- Works with children to help them learn alternative responses to violence.

- Educates the public about the needs of survivors who have experienced domestic violence.

- Works for systems change to alter societal attitudes, behaviors and responses.

We were thrilled to have so many of you join us to honor Best of the Batch Foundation, founded in 1999 by former NFL quarterback Charlie Batch, with the Sherley and Ted Craig Humanitarian Award, and Burson Global with our SUCCESS Award. Megan Rose, our Director of Economic Impact, recently represented WC&S and STANDING FIRM at an Advocacy Day in Harrisburg. The SUCCESS Award will be presented to Burson, a global communications agency with a strong local presence in Pittsburgh. Burson has played a critical role in elevating awareness of domestic violence through strategic communications and earned media efforts, including campaigns surrounding WC&S’ 50th anniversary and the U.S. launch of the Bright Sky app. Thank you Burson -- we can't wait to celebrate you!

We can't wait to see everyone at our Celebrating Survivors event this weekend! As we get ready for the festivities, we want to congratulate our honorees for the event. Today, we're talking about Best of the Batch Foundation. Best of the Batch Foundation, founded in 1999 by former NFL quarterback Charlie Batch, will receive the Sherley and Ted Craig Humanitarian Award for its longstanding commitment to uplifting children and families across Southwestern Pennsylvania.
