Crystal CREW is a special designation within our chapter for active members who have served in the role of Chapter President or those who have been a member of CREW for 14+ years.

We would like to recognize Crystal CREW member Karen Kukish, Publishing Professional and Owner of KK Consulting. Karen has been a dedicated volunteer for our chapter during her tenure as a member. She served as the Director of the Communications Committee and continues to support the “Comm Comm” team with her trademark enthusiasm.

Karen says of her membership:

"I hope becoming a Crystal CREW member means I’m giving back to a group of mostly women who:

✅ Fight stereotypes every day

✅ Create camaraderie with people they just met

✅ Bring humor, stamina, and good will to colleagues and competitors alike

I joined CREW Pittsburgh when Tall Timber Group became a sponsor in 2012. When I interviewed with Jeff Burd, then publisher of BreakingGround and DevelopingPittsburgh magazines, there was a photo from a well-known industry event with about 35-40 people in it and not even 10 women were shown. Now we celebrate plenty of women professionals with their own agendas at industry events.

CREW members remind me of the women I knew growing up AND keep me in touch with the younger members who pick up and go where they create opportunities for themselves that were not quite available to my generation."

Karen’s passion for our mission and her commitment to uplifting members across generations make her an invaluable part of our chapter. Thank you, Karen, for your lasting impact on CREW Pittsburgh. 👏👏👏

Please take a moment to say hello to Karen! 👋
