“We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.”
Hi everyone! Welcome to our page! The Crisis Relief Club was formed by a group of Pitt students to serve as a source of support and help combat national and global crises. Our idea was to create a club that is adaptable to different crises in order to help as many people as possible in their time of need. We founded this club in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic – one of our primary causes. We aim to provide funding and PPE for hospitals and clinics in lower-income predominantly Black neighborhoods, where the virus has inflicted some of the most damage in this country. Healthcare professionals in these areas are also the least protected from contracting the virus themselves due to severe shortages of PPE. Because of these issues, we will donate the money raised through our club to hospitals in these lower-income Pittsburgh neighborhoods. Depending on each facility’s needs, this will be either as direct monetary donations or PPE purchases on their behalf. Our other main cause is the Black Lives Matter movement: our proceeds will also help support organizations like “Reclaim the Block,” which supports Black-owned small businesses affected by the ongoing crises.
To maintain financial transparency, we will post some form of a receipt up on our website for every donation.
If you support these causes and would like to be notified about future fundraisers, please like our page and share it with your friends to help spread the word. Please keep in mind that any donation amount helps! If you have an Instagram, give us a follow:
