Endometriosis is less likely to be diagnosed in Black women. When Fawn Montgomery-Walker, TAAG’s founder and CEO, was first diagnosed, she was never told it was a chronic disease, that it could increase in stages, and that it could spread throughout her reproductive system.

Fawn’s book is both a deeply personal memoir and a powerful act of advocacy. It chronicles her journey through chronic pain, medical gaslighting, and the emotional weight of being expected to stay strong in silence — while weaving in the healing power of African spirituality, rest, and community as pathways to liberation.

There’s been at least 69 Cop Cities built across the country since 2020. More than seven cities, including Chicago and Baltimore, have allocated over $100 million to their Cop Cities.

Groups like stopcopcitypgh, STOP COP CITY!, Stop Cop City Dallas, and STOP COP CITY!.bayarea have been organizing against these police facilities in their communities.

Divest from police, invest in communities.

We can’t talk about food access without talking about the larger economy and policy. Over the last few years, the price of food has increased significantly while benefits like SNAP have been cut.

TAAG enjoyed attending NY Climate Week with or comrades at the Black Hive. The hive is the environmental justice arm of The Movement for Black Lives (M4BL).

We participated in and attended panel discussions. The Black Hive hosted a community event highlighting the Hive’s 5 years of organizing for Black Led Climate, Land and Environmental Justice.

No parent should have to choose between caring for their family and earning a paycheck.

Allegheny County’s Board of Health unanimously advanced a paid parental leave proposal and now it heads to County Council.

The proposal would provide 12 weeks of paid leave following childbirth, adoption, foster placement, or stillbirth for employees at county businesses with 15 or more workers. It covers both birthing and non-birthing parents and protects workers’ jobs and health benefits while they’re on leave.

Let’s keep the momentum going! Show up at County Council on Tuesday, October 6, at 5 p.m. to show your support and urge council members to pass this policy.
