PITBULL AWARENESS MONTH 🐾

Did you know? 🤔😕

Dogs that are labeled as “pitbulls” wait 3 times longer for adoption than other breeds. This is because of the stigma associated with the breed. Many people consider pitbulls to be aggressive and less friendly.

How do we stop the stigma? ❌

*Stop the spreading of misinformation. Often when there is a dog attack or incident involving aggression, the dogs are automatically labeled pitbulls. Often times, it’s a completely different breed.

*Show the real side of pitbulls. Yes, this breed can be strong, high energy, and even stubborn. But they are also loving, affectionate, loyal, and sometimes lazy! If you have a pitbull or work with them, show people what they’re really like.

*Share ALL adoptable dogs! If you look at local shelters and animal control pages, often the pitbulls get less shares and likes than other breeds, small dogs, etc. Every dog deserves a chance at a loving home.

Meet Brooks 🤎

Not only is he a pitbull, but he’s an amazing, sweet, well behaved pup. Brooks was abandoned by his family, but sat in the rain waiting for them. He sat at animal control for almost a year with zero interest. He’s now been with us about a year, also with little interest.

Brooks is big and strong, but also independent and loving. His look and breed automatically make him less adoptable. And guess what? That’s why we took him! He deserves a chance like any other pup.

Please email us if you might be interested in adopting Mr. Brooks. 🤞
