Back to school isn't as simple as walking - or rolling - through the front doors for every student. One study found that 35% of parents of children with spinal cord injuries reported physical accessibility barriers when their child returned to school. 🏫

From entrances and classrooms to bathrooms, hallways and playgrounds, true accessibility means making sure every student can fully participate in their school day.

For many wheelchair users, the shoulders aren’t just used for everyday tasks, they’re essential for mobility and independence.

Wheelchair propulsion, transfers and everyday tasks can put tremendous stress on the shoulder joint. Protecting shoulder health through proper wheelchair fit, movement techniques, and strengthening can help preserve independence for years to come.

We had another awesome Summer Picnic with United Spinal Association of Pittsburgh and the SCI community last Friday! Thank you to all who joined us for the fun. We played games, we ate snow cones, and we had a blast connecting with everyone!
