Today, we were honored to be part of the ribbon cutting for the new UPMC Children’s Heart Institute—a moment that marks so much more than the opening of a beautiful new space. It represents hope, innovation, healing, and a new chapter in heart care.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this vision a reality, and especially to Dr. Victor Morrell and the entire team of providers whose skill, compassion, and dedication have changed our lives forever. It was so special for Caleb to be one of the first to see this incredible space!

Congratulations to everyone involved in creating this remarkable institute. We are so grateful that our foundation could play even a very small part in making this happen. ❤️

We know many of you follow along here and may not see updates from our personal pages, so we wanted to share some incredible news with our foundation family. ❤️

On April 17th, Caleb officially received the ultimate gift — his donor heart.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude and happy to share that he is home and doing very well. While there is still a long road of recovery ahead, we are beyond thankful for this second chance and the amazing care team helping him every step of the way.

There are no words powerful enough to express our gratitude to Caleb’s donor and their family. In the midst of unimaginable loss, they made a decision that gave our son the opportunity to live, grow, and continue inspiring everyone around him. That gift is truly immeasurable.

We also want to thank every single person who has prayed, donated, supported, checked in, and stood beside our family throughout this journey. Your love has carried us through the hardest moments.

Please continue to keep Caleb, his donor family, and all heart warriors waiting for their miracle in your thoughts prayers. ❤️

Today we had the opportunity to host our Meal from the Heart for all of the families and staff of the Heart Institute of . It is so rewarding to give these amazing families a break from their long stays for some good food and to speak with them about their journeys and ours. Always wonderful to see all the doctors and staff who have meant so much to our family.

Thank you to everyone who supports us and allows us to give back in these ways! Hearing the words of appreciation and seeing all of the grateful faces was an amazing moment for our foundation and our family. None of this would be possible without your generosity!

Please join us on Friday, February 6 in wearing RED to celebrate heart warriors, honor those gone too soon, and raise awareness for Congenital Heart Defects.

We wear red for our son Caleb who was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). A fatal diagnosis just 25 years ago, is now treated with a three stage reconstruction of the heart that continues to improve the long-term outlook for these children. This is all possible because of research, advocacy, and awareness.

Caleb has received two of the three surgeries for reconstruction, but his HLHS path will stop there. Not all HLHS patients can follow the traditional reconstruction path due to a wide variety of anatomical issues. Because of this, Caleb is listed for Heart Transplant and has been waiting on the list for three years. We are thankful everyday that to the naked eye, Caleb looks and acts like any other kid, but underneath it all his heart is failing and he must receive the miracle gift of a heart donation.

Regardless of treatments, surgical repairs, or transplant, there is no cure for CHD. Heart disease is a lifelong, chronic condition. The bravery and resiliency of these Heart Warriors deserves to be celebrated. Their condition deserves to be researched and funded to provide a better life for the next generation.

Today we had the incredible honor of presenting a record-breaking check to the UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation. ❤️

In just three years, we have raised over $50,000 for these amazing heart warriors and their families — and each year, your generosity has allowed us to give more than the year before. None of this would be possible without the amazing support of our donors, sponsors, families, and friends. You are the heartbeat of our mission.

We’re also proud to share that while the majority of this year’s donation will go directly to families in need, a portion will support the construction of the world-class Heart Institute set to open next year. Knowing we can play even a small role in shaping lifesaving care for the future means everything.

8:30 AM Registration: (Registration has moved - Located in Upstairs Dining Room)

- Light breakfast and refreshments provided

- 50/50 tickets, raffle tickets, and skins available

10:30AM Shotgun Start: (4-person scramble format

Course awards are located throughout the golf course

Lunch at the Turn: Deli sandwich, Chips & Drinks provided

Refreshments: Drinks & light snacks throughout the round

Dinner: Picnic-style dinner will be served after play

Please let us know if you or anyone in your group has dietary restrictions so we can accommodate.
