Kitten season is almost here!

Here are some tips for what to do if you find a neonatal animal:

-look for signs of mom- their best chance of survival will be with their mother

-contact a neonatal animal rescue for advice or surrender

-keep it warm! Neonates can not regulate their own temperatures

With kitten season right around the corner, please remember to spay and neuter your pets!

If you do find yourself wandering upon a neonate, please seek out a rescue with trained neonatal caretakers to help give the baby the best chance at life.

What to do if you come across a neonatal animal:
-look for signs of mama. Often times a mom will run out of fright of humans.
-call your local TNR rescue, chances are there are more babies in the area
-keep the baby warm- kittens under 6 weeks of age need supplemental heat as they can not regulate on their own

What is the importance of spay/neuter programs?

Low cost spay neuter programs prevent this. A friend is currently on her way to rescue these babies and then they will be on their way to a another rescue for vetting.

May cities try to help with population control via free or low cost programs for sterilaizing pets.

These kittens were abandoned in a garbage can in an abandoned home. All are sick.

Adam’s Place not only helps the community by intaking and raising orphaned newborns but also is an educational resource. We are currently helping many owners raise their own babies by being available for questions, concerns, and hands on demonstrations.
