As summer arrives, human trafficking and exploitation risks sharply increase. For vulnerable women in our community, a safe sanctuary is an urgent matter of survival.

The Sunflower House provides that secure refuge, but keeping our doors open through this high-risk season requires resources. We cannot protect them alone...

Whether you give a one-time gift or become a monthly partner, your generosity directly funds the baseline security that makes healing and family reconciliation possible.

Don't wait. Will you help protect a survivor this summer? 🌻

As we step into June, we are looking closely at the reality of the women we serve. Statistically, over 80% of trafficking and coercion survivors face immediate risk of re-exploitation if they don't have access to safe, stable housing. Without a secure place to heal, the cycle is incredibly difficult to break.

That is exactly why the Sunflower House exists. Our monthly supporters sustain this sanctuary behind the scenes. Your consistent giving keeps the lights on and our environment secure, providing the safe soil our residents need to focus entirely on trauma recovery and family reconciliation.

When you partner with Garden Home Ministries, you aren't just giving a donation; you are actively protecting a life.

Will you stand in the gap with us this month? Become a monthly supporter today. 🌻

"Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony." — Colossians 3:14 🌿

As May closes out and we look ahead to June, we are reminded that maintaining a safe sanctuary requires steady, daily cultivation. Statistically, over 80% of survivors of trafficking and coercion risk immediate re-exploitation if they lack safe, stable housing.

While we celebrate the beautiful "blooms" of recovery out in the open, it is our dedicated monthly partners who keep our doors open and our environment secure, providing the safe soil our residents need to focus entirely on healing and family reconciliation.

As we near the very end of May and look forward to the promise and new beginnings of June, we are reflecting deeply on the community that holds us up. A flourishing garden doesn't grow in isolation—it requires a dedicated network of support. 🌻

Today, we want to shine a beautiful light on two local partners who have stood directly in the gap for us: Recovery Ministry and Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh.

Their timely support and collaborative spirit have been absolutely instrumental. They have ensured that we never have to choose between keeping our essential utilities running and providing vital recovery programming and tangible support to our residents. Because they helped shoulder these practical operational weights, the Sunflower House remains a warm, stable sanctuary where healing and family reconciliation take center stage.

We are incredibly blessed by your partnership and your shared dedication to restoring dignity. Together, we are ensuring that no woman has to walk the path of recovery alone.

Hope can feel incredibly fragile when it is first rediscovered after years of exploitation. It needs a shield. It needs a place that doesn't just promise safety, but provides it in the most literal sense.

To our incredible supporters: thank you for being that shield. We are so grateful that we can offer our residents a stable physical address—a place where they can sleep soundly without looking over their shoulder. Your sustained generosity means we don’t just open the door; we keep it open, even when operational costs rise. We stand in awe of the safety you provide for these women as they reclaim their dignity and their lives.

When God brings a daughter to Garden Home Ministries, He is trusting us to cultivate a space where her soul can finally breathe. It is a sacred trust, and we feel the weight of it every day. But we also feel the immense joy of knowing we aren't doing it alone.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the partners who help us fulfill this mission. Your contributions provide the sustainable, quiet environment where a survivor can move from "survival mode" into a season of blooming. Thank you for joining us in this faithful stewardship of the ground we’ve been given. Your ongoing support ensures that the Sunflower House remains a place where hope is not just a dream, but a daily reality.

We don’t just run programs here; we witness resurrections. We see the exact moment when the weight of the past begins to lift and the light of a future starts to break through. It is a holy thing to watch, and we are so aware that your support is the fuel behind every single one of those moments.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to the partners who understand that paying the electric bill or the heating costs is what keeps the therapy rooms open and the community table lit. You are the silent engine behind every breakthrough we celebrate. Thank you for refueling our mission so that the work of restoration never has to pause for a lack of resources.

There is a specific kind of peace that comes with a warm room on a cold night. For the women at the Sunflower House, that warmth is more than a utility; it is a physical embrace. It tells them they are safe, they are seen, and they are finally home.

We are so deeply grateful for the supporters whose ongoing generosity clears our utility hurdles each season.

Because of your faithfulness, we never have to choose between keeping the lights on and providing the deep restorative care our residents need. You have turned this house into a true sanctuary. As we look toward the months ahead, we invite you to continue this beautiful stewardship of "the least of these" with us. Every gift is a brick in the foundation of her new life.

A beautiful garden is never the result of luck; it is the product of intentional, sacrificial care.

Behind every "bloom" at the Sunflower House is a team of dedicated "gardeners"—our volunteers and staff who provide the steady presence and Christ-centered love our residents need to feel safe.

But the hardest work happens within the residents themselves. As Sharlene often says, we are so proud of how these women "work really hard to stay in their fight." Growth isn't always easy, and it isn't always fast, but with the right care and a secure foundation, it is always possible.

This April, we are honoring the hard work that happens behind the scenes. Thank you for being the community that keeps this garden growing. 🌻

The numbers tell a devastating story in our own backyard. 💔

In Allegheny County, over 1,000 cases of sexual assault are reported annually—and experts know this is only a fraction of the reality. The trauma is pervasive, touching 1 in 5 female college students and nearly 26% of undergraduate women at the University of Pittsburgh.

When 94% of r**e survivors experience PTSD symptoms within two weeks, the need for an immediate, safe sanctuary is undeniable.

This is why Garden Home Ministries exists. The Sunflower House isn't just a building; it is the essential intervention that interrupts this cycle of trauma. We provide the stable, secure, and trauma-informed environment where a statistic becomes a story of survival and restoration.

We are fighting for the ONE in that "1 in 5."
