Only One week away!

Only one week away is National Night Out- a celebration of neighborhood and community. Come to the Catalano Parklet on Spring Garden Ave to rejoice with neighbors. This totally free event is the highlight of the year- with food, games, giveaways, music, and fun! This year is a sports theme- with a friendly neighborhood competition- so come dressed in sports gear- any sport any team for what is shaping up to be an incredible event. Tuesday August 4th from 4:30-8pm. Go team!

Today the Tripoli Community at center at 816 Tripoli street will be open as a cooling center. If you need a break from the heat/ air quality please come and get water/ take a break/ use restrooms. All are welcome.

The Department of Public Works has opened a community survey for the Spring Garden Park redesign. There are two design options available for residents to review and provide feedback.: https://engage.pittsburghpa.gov/spring-garden.

The survey closes Aug 14th .

CASGED is hosting Community Gathering on Thursday May 21st at Penn Brewery from 5:30 to 9:30PM and this night is going to be one for the books. Silent and live auction packed with your neighbors' talents and skills, raffle prizes, 50/50, and four celebrity auctioneers including Mayor Corey O'Connor, State Representative Lindsey Powell, City Councilman Bobby Wilson, and Zone 1 Commander Shawn Malloy!
AND we have not one but TWO food trucks on site — pizza AND waffles! Kids eat completely free all night and the pizza truck is offering two slices for just $13 as a special event discount. Come hungry! 🍕🧇
Every dollar raised goes directly toward transforming our community owned lot into Tripoli Park — a green space for ALL of us to enjoy for generations to come.
Here is our challenge to you — don't just come alone. Text a neighbor. Knock on a door. Bring someone with you on Thursday night. The more neighbors we have in that room the more park we build together. 🌳

Hey friends and neighbors!

Please come out on Thursday May 21st from 5:30-9:30pm to a gathering at Penn brewery!
Our community is building Tripoli Park. A real, actual park on a lot we own right here in Spring Garden and East Deutschtown. And on May 21st at Penn Brewery we are throwing a community auction gathering to make it happen — and I could not be more excited about it.

Here is why I love this event so much — it is completely neighbor to neighbor. The people up for auction are YOUR neighbors donating their time, talents, and skills. We are talking cooking classes, garden help, dinner parties, pottery lessons, handyman services, and so much more. Real people offering real things because they love this community.

And Mayor Corey O'Connor is coming out in person as our celebrity auctioneer for the night! How fun is that?!

Here is what we want you to know — this is NOT a stuffy fundraiser. This is a genuinely fun night out. There is an amazing heavy appetizer buffet for just $15 per adult and kids eat completely free. There is a raffle, a 50/50, and a really cool dollar voting station where you get to literally decide what goes into the park — benches, picnic tables, a community board. YOUR dollars make the decision!

You can come with $20 or $200. It does not matter. What matters is that you show up, have fun, eat good food, and help us build something our whole neighborhood will enjoy for generations.

This park is for all of us. Our kids. Our neighbors. Our community. And nights like this are exactly how it gets built — one bid, one raffle ticket, and one neighbor at a time.
