Dear Friends of the Darius Jones Foundation,

As we approach the New Year 2017 I would like to take time to reflect our accomplishments for the past seven years since my son Darius passed away in 2009.

The Darius Jones Foundation has placed 38 AED’s in schools throughout Contra Costa County, we have taught over 15,000 community members Hands Only CPR and we have Screened over 800 students through the Screening 4 Your Health Program our DJF East Bay Basketball Academy had over 300 boy and girls participated in our program.

We have kept our promise to be greater than ourselves by protecting our children. To increase Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) awareness, provide SCA education, CPR /AED training.

Youth Heart Screening through Detection is Prevention for heart abnormalities and giving children a chance to play in a sport which my son loved more than life Basketball within the Contra Costa County Communities.

The Darius Jones Foundation’s Board of Directors have agreed to help provide the maintenance to the 38 schools which the Darius Jones Foundation in partnership with EMS and AMR provided them with a AED.

We will continue to give out AED’s to schools who still need a in 2017 we will also be fundraising to purchase the batteries and the electrodes for the 38 schools we have given an AED so that the school districts have one less thing to worry about.

We would like to extend to you an invitation to join us in making a difference!

Our pledge: The Darius Jones Foundation will continue to provide availability and accessibility of Automated External Defibrillators (AED) at all sites where practices and game events are held.

Making sure all community members are educated about SCA and continue Heart Screening for our students and still offer a Basketball program to our youth in Contra Costa County.

Today was a good day 147 students were screened at DeLaSalle High School. It was nice to see friends of the Darius Jones Foundation there.
