I am so grateful for our volunteers at Mercy Pittsburg!

Volunteer spotlight! Meet Shayne Anderson, who joined the Auxiliary team in 1999. She was motivated by a family tradition as both her mother and mother-in-law were long-time members of the Mt. Carmel Auxiliary. Currently, Shayne volunteers in the hospital gift shop, where she gets to visit with people and do a little shopping herself. She loves to lend a hand and help wherever she can. She has a natural ability to make you smile, a true gift of gab, and an endless supply of energy!

If you've visited the gift shop on a Wednesday or Friday morning, there's a good chance you've run into our latest volunteer spotlight, Fred Garzone! Fred has volunteered for the past 11 years, the last three of which have come in Pittsburg. Fred, thank you for being a friendly face to our patients and visitors!

Last week, we thoroughly enjoyed the Mercy Hospital Pittsburg Volunteer Luncheon. It was a pleasure to visit with such an outstanding group of friends, sing several songs, play a Christmas game, and receive a special visit from Santa, who acknowledged the Mt Carmel Auxiliary, Mercy Volunteers as the best of the best.
